There are very few English speakers in the station. Mostly the younger people will help you as they speak some very well. The trains run from the underground platforms, the trams are at street level and they run from lettered platforms (A-G). You will see them when you exit the station. The trams are numbered and there is a digital screen that lets you know when each is scheduled to arrive. I believe that the 2 and 7 arrive every 20 minutes or so during peak hours M-F 0900 to 2000. I took the train in to Olomouc hn.l from Praha and it was easy although good luck finding someone to help you in English. Keep asking until you find someone. Don't be shy and speak slowly. You will need a ticket to board the trams. You have to pay in coins. There is a small yellow kiosk/machine where you select the price and insert coins. 14 Czk is 40 minute ticket with transfers/multiple uses. 46 Czk is 24 hour ticket. You don't need to be able to read the machine if you know this. Press the button with the proper price and insert your coins. A ticket will come out and you will receive change. When your team arrives, put one end of your ticket into the yellow monitors attached to the poles. It will make a clicking noise then take your seat. I took the 2 and/or 7 from Neradin Krematorim to town and the bus/train station many times during my trip. The trams and buses are both very clean and easy to use. The transportation in Olomouc is much better than in Los Angeles, California! Go Olomouc!!

It's a small station, but beautiful with lots of natural light. There's plenty of seating, shops, and restrooms. For good breakfast pastries, go to Minit. They sell small pastries filled with chocolate, raspberries, ham and cheese, and even bleu cheese. Signage is clear and the train times and platforms easy to find.

The cashier selling tickets takes a long time to sell you a train ticket. Not sure why, it's like she has to go through 20 steps.

Easy to read the signage and there was a shopping mall attached to it. It helped to pass the 3 hours doing staying in AC since it was so hot outside. Otherwise we would have ventured out to see the town. Also very good for people watching. It seems everyone was passing through this station.

It is somewhat interesting architecturally with high arching ceilings, granite construction and intriguing reliefs in various places. The schedule board is well placed and finding platforms is no problem at all. The amenities are limited but there are at least places to buy food and drink to take away. In general, I thought this station was nice enough and easy to use. It is an quick walk to and from city centre making it a great way to begin and/or end a visit to Brno.

There is free wi-fi, a waiting room and lockers you can rent/hire if you want to leave your luggage and explore the city. Be aware the lockers only accept 10 and 20 Czech koruna coins, and there is no change machine! (I bought a coffee to get my change). 60 Kč gets you the smallest locker which fit my overstuffed 40 liter backpack.
