This hotel is a bit small but I suppose it's standard for the area. Don't come here expecting palatial suites or even Vegas size suites. No. When you reserve the suite (bedroom, living room, one full bath, work space), you're going to get something smaller than a basic studio apartment. But this isn't to say that it's not comfortable because it is. Only main issue I had was with the window placement and the blinds which failed to block the sunlight, a problem because of the window placement being on the ceiling and largely facing East.
Other than that, the room was adequate for what you pay (which, in USD, is not very much at all). Value for money? 10 stars.
Bed is firmer than most hotels I've stayed in Europe but that's not a complaint since I like a firm bed.
Couch was also comfy and though folds out to another bed, was good enough to sleep/nap on on its own.
Bathroom is good enough but the corner shower is barely large enough to wash properly without breaking something. That's a problem.
The work space is a long desk along a wall below a low angled ceiling. The lighting is poor in this corner so working feels more like writing a suicide letter. I moved over to the couch.
The sitting area is nice with a couch that seats 2 comfortably or 3 if you're a normal sized human being. There's also an extra armchair and a coffee table in case you want to lounge in your room instead of the bar/restaurant which is nice (separate review).
Parking is odd, especially in bad weather. The private gated lot is a few meters down the street detached from the hotel. There is a small parking lot right in front of the hotel entrance but that's for business and it's paid. Strange. Look for a white gate with the Hotel's logo painted on and open it with your room key after you check in. Be careful when getting out of your car because the surface is very loose large gravel/rocks. Bring your hiking shoes.
Now, you should understand that the hotel is on the corner of the street, but the entrance on the corner is to the bar/restaurant ONLY. There is no direct passage into the hotel. You must leave the bar and walk around to the back of the building with the paid parking lot is. Use your key to enter the doors then walk through what feels like a remake of the Shining and find the reception desk, which is a counter that looks like someone's bar area at home. Check out is there too.
Passport required for international guests. If you forgot, don't worry. Just email them a photo of your passport page within 48 hours after checking out.
Service is enough to get the job done so don't worry about playing nice or being extra warm and fuzzy. But don't be a douchebag either.
Get the manager's suite, always. It costs less than dinner at Morton's and is well worth the extra space. read more
