I just don't like the feeling of waiting in hospitals, and you can't just leave and skip the checkup. Healthway Alabang is one of the best ambulatory healthcare providers I know. They have everything you need for your health needs; they can handle laboratory procedures and diagnostic imaging so you don't need to go to a big hospital if you need to have a blood test or an ultrasound done. They have a pharmacy as well. The waiting areas are comfy enough, but if you don't feel like staying there, the best part in this clinic is that it's inside Alabang Town Center, so you can do your shopping while waiting for your check-up (just make sure that you inform the doctor's assistant or the staff assigned so they can contact you when it's already your turn).

In my family, you don't go to the doctor unless you really, really have to. That means that colds,…read morefevers, coughs, and other common sicknesses get ignored and are only treated with bed rest and lots of fluids. That's just how we roll. But because of this, I've always kind of felt like getting a personal medical card would never really be maximized. This is the reason why I really appreciate Healthway. They have any kind of doctor that you'd need, and it's the type where you can just pop into the one nearest you. This particular branch gets pretty full, because it's the only medical facility in Town Center. But the nurses are all very helpful, and in my experience I've never had a doctor that seemed to be rushing me just because they had a long queue or because they're ready to go home. It's really the best outpatient facility around, so I highly recommend them.

He also holds a clinic at the branch near our village but at the time when we really need to see him, he was at Montillano. So, off drive to the northern part of Alabang. Alabang Med Main is a small hospital that is very accessible to the public. The majority of the patients belong to the masa so don't expect to see guards opening the door for you nor a concierge to answer your inquiries and assist you with your other concerns. Alcohol and sanitizers are scarce. Ceiling fans and not ACs are used for ventilation. It's kind of a self-service hospital. When you go there, you get a number from the nurse's station, where around five nurses are attending to other patients, and wait for your number to be called. As soon as you are called, a nurse will record your vital signs on an index card which they will file on their library-like catalogue cabinet. The nurse will then give you another number and you need to wait for your turn right outside the doctor's clinic. Doctors don't get assisted, too, unlike in bigger hospitals. While Alabang Medical Clinic Main may not be an air conditioned and full-service hospital, it has very accommodating nurses who don't snap at patients despite the bulk of their workload. Alabang Med also has good doctors who give proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment to all patients regardless of their paying capability. We have peace of mind whenever we walk out from the doctor's clinic and relieved that we have received the proper treatment.

At first, it was only for our son's prescribed vaccinations. Later on, this facility has become our go-to for our baby's health concerns. We are so blessed to have been referred by our friend to a very good, super friendly and accommodating pedia. She answers our inquiries knowledgeably and even anticipates our other concerns. She is one of the few doctors who gives out her mobile number and actually replies to our SMS even on weekends. Should you need a reliable and good doctor for your children, just look for Dra. Pamela Roxas. Now, about Tokyo Healthlink, per se. I prefer going to this Japanese-affiliated health facility for a number of reasons. First, it is not as crowded as the other hospitals and clinics that we've been to. Therefore, the probability of catching communicable diseases has been minimized. Second, it accepts our health card and other major HMOs. Third, their nurses are very efficient and patient in getting the vital signs of kids who are too scared of being touched by medical practitioners. Lastly, they have a very clean and cozy waiting area for patients and their companions. Though they may have clean restrooms, there is no changing table in any of them. I expect that there should be at least one because female restrooms in Japan are equipped with changing tables and child carriers mounted inside each cubicle. Overall, the Tokyo Healthlink facility at El Molito, which is right across Alabang Town Center (ATC for Southern peeps) is a good health hub that will surely cater to your health-related concerns without the stressful hospital atmosphere.

Thankfully, Dra Niza, as we like to call her, is not only an OB-GYNE but she is also a Sonologist and she specializes in high risk pregnancy. She took care of me and my baby at the start of my pregnancy up until I have given birth my son. Dra Niza is the best doctor that I have ever met because she explains everything in a manner that patients can understand. She uses visual aids such as her charts and apps from her phone and iPad which makes it easier for me to have a grasp of her medical explanations. She is also one of the few doctors who understand that patients have budget limitations. She would give us alternatives so we can save on some tests and procedures. She also maintains constant communication with her patients and she replies to SMS promptly. Should you need an OB-GYNE, I highly recommend Dra. Niza Reyes because she really takes care of her patients.

I had my…read moretransvaginal ultrasound at the Center for Women's Health Department at Asian Hospital and Dr Niza Reyes was the OB gyne at that time. I was requested to have antral follicle count on the 3rd day of my period by my OB gyne. At first, Dr Niza was gentle doing the procedure counting my multiple myomas and checking the condition of my endothelium. She was able to count my antral follicles on my right ovary with no pain. But when she was doing the count on my left ovary, I started to feel pain while she was moving the transducer (wand) inside my belly. The pain was excruciating like I was having my dysmenorrhea. I was breathing heavily and quietly to counteract the pain while Dr Niza was having a hard time to have the final count of my antral follicles. On the third time she moved the transducer and pressed it on my left ovary, I started to talk and wanted to ask her if the pain was normal. She didn't allow me to finish my question and instead told me in a high-pitched, sarcastic tone of voice, "Sorry! Pinapabilang yung follicles mo e!" I was so surprised with her reaction. I was not even complaining. I just wanted to ask if the pain was normal. I have no intentions of asking her to stop the procedure since I am aware that this test is needed. Tears fell on my eyes because of the pain and how insensitive Dr Niza Reyes was with her patient's feelings. I had my hysterosalpingogram and IUI before which were more painful and extensive but never received the same reaction and blame from my OB. To make things worse, the nurse handed me the wrong result (2nd/3rd trimester result of another patient). Good thing I opened the envelope and checked the result before leaving the department. Again if you're looking for an OB gyne especially in the south, Alabang area please do not even try having your check-up with Dr Ma Niza Bermudez Reyes who is moody and does not show sympathy and respect to her patients. There may be other doctors out there that hopefully will be more supportive.
