Hoyt farm is expansive with play area, bbq, farm, and a designated ice cream truck spot in the parking lot! Come early and enjoy

I've always liked coming here with the kids. The park is nice and clean with a water park in the summer. There are animals of course. The trail is well maintained and a good walk. We always stopped by the swamp area to see the turtles on logs. If your not a resident then go after Labor Day when no one is at the gate to make you turn around. Enjoy.

So ridiculous You cannot go to this park if you are not a Smithtown resident which doesn't make much sense because it's in Commack. I've lived all over the country and Long Island is the only place that does this. What a clicky my town is better than yours attitude! Now my kids have to wait as I drive to another park so they can play. Smh Also the girl told me i can park down the block and there's signs everywhere saying NO parking! Yea I don't want a ticket thanks

I love Hoyt farm, It's huge, has a little Something for everyone-farm animals, butterfly garden, hiking trails, little bits of history with replicas of wigwams, set ups of old country living and battle field cannon relics. Along with a park and splash pad. THE ONLY REASON ITS MISSING A STAR- you can not get anyone on the phone when you call. I called one time with a question, got a busy signal or the answering machine 10/10 times I tried that afternoon. I ended up not going because I wasn't sure if I could bring my sister who isn't a Smithtown resident with me if she was in another car(we have 4 kids between us and can't all fit in the same car with the car seats)

Opened this weekend among all the Corona virus stuff. It was a delight! It was nearly empty. My son loved all the animals and we walked the nature trail. It was peaceful and lovely. You need to wear a mask...(one family was not!) And you can't really touch anything. We saw kids on the playground but didn't attempt it. Can't wait to go back!!! What a gem in our town!

This Town Of Smithtown Park is a hidden gem in the woods, with walking trails, sheep, pigs, a real wood maker who takes fallen trees into pop's of art all over the property for you and your extended family to discover. Given that Hoyt Farm Nature Preserve is exclusively for Smithtown residents (& Empire pass folks) in months that don't have an 'r' in them (well, from MDW-LDW), I'd never stepped foot inside 'til recently. I virtually jogged over from work on a brisk autumn day to find the place jampacked with families galore. Kiddies occupied the playground, spilling out from the SUVs that'd taken over the parking lot at the entrance. There's a bandstand of sorts and a nice bit of open land, buttressed by some gentle hills and barn-like structures. A refreshing change of pace, a lunchtime respite near the NSP, I'd consider a return to HFP for certain. Check for deets @ their site http://www.smithtowninfo.com/HoytFarm/ .

Amazing park with animals, extensive hiking trails, beautiful grounds that are well kept!!! So peaceful and relaxing! You must be a Smithtown Resident to park and have a pass! I'm not sure if you have to be a Resident to use the park...its confusing lol

Great park to bring the kids. Fun for everyone!!! There's a couple playgrounds, a large field, smallish hill for sledding, animals, spray Park, grills/picnic area, nature trails & best of all a little gnome village. During the summer they have concerts and movie night. We love going there. Only problem is you have to be a Smithtown resident to park in the lot during peak season, otherwise you can park in the surrounding neighborhood and walk in.
