We were seen by Dr. Tan and he made very little effort to get to know my dad before taking out clippers (which did not come from any kind of a sterile wrapper) and extremely aggressively chopping off big chunks of my dads toenails. My dad was repeatedly saying "ow" because Dr. Tan was hurting him and he made him bleed in both of his big toes even though he knew he's on blood thinners. No antiseptic, no topical pain meds, no warning that it would hurt. His home health nurse was shocked when she saw them. On top of that, he didn't make any effort to file or shape his toe nails (they're just basically clipped in big sharp chunks - see pictures) and essentially told us there's nothing can do to treat the fungus. So we drove an hour there from my dad's house just to have his nails hacked off and not be offered any real solutions (except a cream he said would probably not help) and leave in more pain than he arrived The whole experience was actually shocking and I felt terrible for my elderly dad - his toes are still hurting since yesterday.

His office staff and Dr. Joba were very professional and careful when removing bandages and examining my foot (I saw Dr. Joba when Dr. Fitzgerald was on vacation and he had assisted in my surgery). Dr Karaoglan's himself is ultra fantastic, 6 stars out of 5!…read more However, Cindy at Dr Karaoglan's, his everything receptionist, billing dept. etc. Has turned out to be beyond aggravating. If I could give negative stars I would!! My insurance changed which I was not aware of at the time of a visit in March. I then provided her with the correct information. Cindy claims to have filed claims, I believe she says twice and was rejected. I say "Claims" because United Health Care has no record of them. Untied Health Care has attempted to get ahold of her multiple times and left multiple messages. Cindy has verbally told me she refuses to do anything else on this claim. Now I am billed directly by Dr Karaoglan's and Untied Health Care can not do anything without her input. I probably will not go back to Dr. Karaoglan, because of Cindy.

I have seen patient(s) arrive at Dr. Shonka's office having their foot or other extremities in trouble and Dr. Shonka, would do a full assessment of the foot/other extremities and determining the severity of the injury/injuries, ulcer , etc., and would talk to the patient and their love one's and explain in details what the next steps would be and his office manager Silva Morgan would explain to the patient their insurance coverage and the patient obligation part of their insurance coverage and IF, Dr. Shonka, needed an assist in the procedure(s) he would make sure his staff member contact the patient insurance and make sure the patient insurance would cover the assisting doctor and would make sure the approval for this procedure was in place. On July 7, 2017, my daughter and myself were in a pedestrian vs automobile hit and run car accident leaving me with multiple injuries and one of the injuries is my right foot/ankle and presently I am a Kaiser patient. I plan on forwarding necessary medical documents for Dr. Shonka, review and if, Dr. Shonka feels this injury need to have surgery to help repair the right foot/ankle; I plan on obtaining a PPO insurance through my work and schedule an office visit with Dr. Shonka's office.
