I do not feel respected for the many years of teaching I possess. The principal came from Queen of Peace Middle School in Gainesville FL (2021) - one should research the reviews from that time. There is favoritism for athletes, including requests to change grades that are not earned. This has proven to be a detriment when students go on to college on sports scholarships and academically fail in their first semester. In my opinion, one should look elsewhere to be appreciated.

As educators, my husband and I were both sold on the Montessori Method as optimal for developing brains, and after a tour of MHO and a meeting with Ms. Jill, the director, we decided to enroll our son. Over the next few years, our son continuously amazed us with his personal and academic growth. He became a fountain of knowledge on the natural sciences, books and practical living skills, and he participated in three separate theatrical productions as well as music concerts. We were most impressed; however, with by his social development, by his kind and compassionate approach to his peers, and by his ability to engage cooperatively with others. MHO challenged him and nurtured him at the pace he required. We recently left MHO due to a move out of town, and while we were very sad for Our son to leave MHO, we are pleased to report he has transitioned beautifully into his new school. We are certain this is due to the strong foundation provided to him at Montessori House of Ocala, and for that we will always be grateful.

Our six-year-old daughter began piano lessons a few months ago with a young teacher, RZ, at the…read moreCommunity Music Conservatory. Right from the beginning, this teacher seemed quite unfriendly to daughter and me. (One of we parents needs to sit in on the lesson, as daughter is forgetful and does not retain the teacher pointers in order for us to have good follow-up.) For the first lesson, teacher jumped right into the music book, even before establishing any rapport with our daughter. I had to interrupt at this point in order to provide some important information about our daughter. For the second lesson, I had my wife accompany daughter to the class. I didn't tell wife anything about the teacher, but afterwards, wife complained about how unfriendly the teacher was. I mentioned this to one of the school administrators, but thereafter, it seemed as we were personae non gratae. After three months of lessons, the teacher was apparently informed her contract would not be renewed for the next season. Teacher never showed up for the last lesson and did not inform us beforehand. When I texted her about this, her texted response was to criticize us and malign our daughter! I shared the text message and school administrators apologized well. We were provided a new teacher, but after the 2nd lesson, that teacher literally stopped us from accompanying daughter to class-without any discussion or forewarning. (We have another daughter who took piano in another state with three other teachers for 8+ years and never had any question or issue about sitting in on the class, since we were not interfering or interrupting and were helpful.) School did not attempt to rectify and didn't have any other teacher, so daughter has now been unable to study piano for some six weeks while we seek another school or teacher. To school's credit, we were provided some names of teachers in the area, and we received a written apology for both baffling and disappointing outcomes.

I would really change some things in the school... but I think that I will come with time. overall I give the school four stars. they have a lot of clubs for the kids to be involved in. I think that is really important. I also personally like how they handled some situations.
