The eviction process is never fun for a landlord, especially in a state that is more friendly to tenants. But I was happy with the result, that I got the eviction warrant in about 6.5 months, even though it was during the holiday season, I was very grateful to get a trial a few days prior to Christmas, and the trial went very well. I got my rental home back about 2 months later, after waiting for the sheriff to put it on schedule, because Long Island has many homes on its list waiting. Glad that everything turned out well, and I made the right choice choosing David.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS IRASCIBLE MAN and here is why…read more On November 16, 2023 Mr. David L. Witkon, Esq was appointed Guardian Ad Litem to represent the interests of my adult handicapped son in eviction proceedings. Through no fault of my own (my ex ATTORNEY husband stopped paying the mortgage without my knowledge - resulting in foreclosure, auction and subsequent eviction proceedings from our home). Mr. Witkon first contacted me on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 4:30pm. We were scheduled for court the following Monday, December 18, 2023 at 9:30am. So to say he waiting until the last possible moment to call and obtain information is a complete understatement. He was appointed 30 days before making initial contact, and until the last minute! When Mr. Witkon called I explained to him that both Luke and I were home with a terrible flu like illness for the past three days and I was in no shape to accurately speak to him (medicine head), but because it was so late in the game due his lack of consideration and calling at the 11th hour, I acquiesced and attempted to answer his questions. Mr. Witkon was dismissive and disrespectful in that conversation, speaking speaking over me. When asked if he needed to actually meet Luke he said, "based on your description of your son, I see no need to met with him." On Sunday evening, December 17, 2023 Luke and I took a rapid Covid test at home which was positive. I went to court (wearing a mask) to notify the court of the situation. As a Physician Assistant practicing medicine for more than 30 years I am more than aware of the Covid safety guidelines. When Mr. Wiitkon, (25 minutes late), arrived he was informed of the positive results. He IMMEDIATELY started shouting at me to get out of the building. Mr. Witkon called me and asked me if I could produce a photo of a positive test strip proving Covid. I explained it was a home test, and my garbage is collected on Monday mornings, so I could not produce it, but, I stated I would happily get a doctors note as we were seeing a physician 3 days later. Mr. Witkon was incredibly rude, shouting and speaking over me to the point that I had to say several times, "If you continue to speak over me you will not be able to hear my answers - remember God gave you two ears and only one mouth, so you should listen twice as much." I can't even begin to describe the horrible, condescending manner in which he spoke to me, a 9/11 First Responder, handicapped child, a woman he had never met and knew nothing about........ Mr. Witkon actually said, "Your lucky I was able to get this case adjourned." Sir, Covid got this case adjourned, you Sir showed up 25 minutes late, proceeded to lie to the court by saying you told me to bring my son, when you clearly stated on the phone there was no reason for you to meet with him. Mr. Witkon actually had the audacity to say that he did the best he could for Luke. Again Sir, if your best is contacting your client at the 11th hour and browbeating them after they clearly tell you they are sick in bed with your overbearing, rude, over talking, condescending manner, than I am truly sorry for the rest of your "clients". I realize that Mr. Witkon was court appointed, and therefore this case was pro bono for him, but did he have to be so incredibly rude? In a text message with Mr. Witkon I informed him that I would NOT be able to work with him and I further informed him that I would accurately reflect our interactions in a thorough review. On December 20, 2023 Mr. Witkon filed paperwork with the court requesting to be removed as Guardian Ad Litem, stating that I threatened him. Well, Sir, if stating that I would write an accurate review clearly reflecting all of our communication is a threat, than I suggest you conduct yourself in a more professional manner with respect and kindness. I look forward to sharing our text conversation with the court at our next scheduled date, as I firmly believe Mr. Witkon should at the very least, receive some type of sanctions for his treatment of both me and my son, Luke.

This review is far from its originally intended due date but better late than never…read more.. A few months prior to the pandemic shutting us down, I was going through (what seemed like) a divorce. Given how the normed culture of society tends to lean/favor the mother, I feared I wouldn't see nor have equal rights to raising my newborn daughter. Warren Hoffman started working for me, my rights, days before I retained his firm. At that moment I felt protected and represented- he was calm, cool, knowledgeable, no bells and whistles. I felt good going into their office and finalizing our agreement. Instead of Warren Hoffman, I was assigned Andrea Scampoli. Not knowing her name or reputation, I trusted the firm and agreed to her taking point on my case. What followed in the weeks to come was hard but hopeful because of Andrea. Andrea Scampoli was / is nothing short of a heroic, sharp, intelligent, as-a-matter-of-fact, don't F with her, dangerously good attorney. I'm into superheroes and she genuinely behaved like Wonder Woman. She was stoic, understanding, supportive but not wavering. I must say, she did put the other side's attorney to shame in our first meet. The poor guy seemed flustered and searching for pocket-change comebacks but couldn't find any. Whatever the cost, I knew I invested well. I knew I invested well when Andrea fought for my rights and gave me (and was giving me) all that I wanted: My daughter and the my rights to exercise my fatherhood. She made sure I was equal (if not gaining more) in any deal or agreement or compromise. You just have to work with her, be upfront, be honest, and she'll get you what you need (if your requests are reasonable and sound). That was all of February 2020! And some of March before the pandemic hit and we went through our lockdowns. Happily and warranted, it gave me and my suppose-to-be ex-wife time to heal and understand what happened between us. While the courts went quiet, my wife and I took the time to figure things out and ended up on the better side of it. Despite working things out, Andrea still advised and guided me. Every possible process she took care of without any pain or minimized it. One year since our first court appearances, my wife and I and our daughter are happily and lovingly together. Sometimes you have to get through the dirt in order to raise your garden. Thank you Warren, for picking up my call on Saturday, January 11th, 2020. Thank you for being an exceptional and skilled lawyer. Thank you for finding/hiring Andrea. To the front desk staff, thank you for praying for me and always being sweet, kind, and precise. Andrea, thank you for being my hero, truly. You are gifted, fearless, and a force to be reckoned with. You truly embody Wonder Woman. I am grateful you represented me. I had and have my daughter because of you... To those searching: Please consider Hoffman and Behar if you ever need such kind of help... Ask for Andrea (or Warren!)

Nov. 2017, I get a demand to pay from him and I am still not divorced! Feeling victimized by my husband and attorney. Mr. Weiss offered to settle for 2k if I remove negative reviews warning others about his services. I refused. would never recommend this lawyer. I really don't understand how others do when all she does is…read moreovercharge her clients. She rarely returns calls and has unreasonable fees. For example, a simple two-second phone call reminding you of a court date--something you didn't even request--costs $50. An email is $150, and sending an email on your behalf is $250. Her hourly rate is $600, and she charges $600 for travel and $60 to $100 for parking. To review her own file before going to court costs $400. The basic things for any lawyer to do is meet with their client before any hearing she does not even though she did not see or hear from the person for over 6 months. How can you speak for that person? And turn around charge the person $4500 for that 30 minutes court hearing? If that is not scam I really do not know what is . For her to show up for a hearing, it could cost you between $3,000 and $4,000. She seems indifferent to her clients, focusing only on dragging out cases. Whenever the opposing side makes requests, she does not advocate for her clients; she allows things to drag on unnecessarily. A friend of mine hired her, and she completely ruined them. They had to file for bankruptcy, and the other side won everything. She lied to them throughout the hearing and essentially sold them out to the opposing side. If you are currently represented by her, I urge you to leave; it will not get better, and you may face serious consequences. Her retainer fee is $5,000, which quickly disappears in charges. It's a shame to see how divorce court allows people like her to exploit vulnerable individuals. She was even late for court once, and when the person called to check on her arrival, they were charged $160 for that brief phone call. A case that should take three months to a year took over four years. For a trial, she charges over $12000 for just that one day. Ultimately, the individual lost everything and is now homeless. I will go on every platform and expose this person. She should not allowed to scam and misleading people like that.

How the heck do you even go about finding one? of course the real answer is exactly what yelp is based upon and that is reviews from real people. It came to pass that a relative of mine got himself in some sort of trouble and clearly needed a lawyer. There are all kinds of lawyers from lawyers that do real estate to medicade applications to criminal law. Well this time the search was for a criminal defense lawyer. This office someone always answers the phone. The lawyer himself will actually call back with in a short time. His office is small but who wants a big glitzy office? you just want someone that is understanding and knows what the heck they are doing. After visiting other law offices I was surprised at how different they were from one clearly a big mess to one too fancy and too many people working there to one that is an out and out crook but that's for another review someday. Mr Moza is personable, understanding and actually cares about his clients. He will go the extra step to find out the real truth and from what I have seen work hard to bring the truth forward and protect his clients. as with anything especially lawyers get that upfront out the door price so there are no surprises down the road.
