This review is far from its originally intended due date but better late than never... A few months prior to the pandemic shutting us down, I was going through (what seemed like) a divorce. Given how the normed culture of society tends to lean/favor the mother, I feared I wouldn't see nor have equal rights to raising my newborn daughter. Warren Hoffman started working for me, my rights, days before I retained his firm. At that moment I felt protected and represented- he was calm, cool, knowledgeable, no bells and whistles. I felt good going into their office and finalizing our agreement. Instead of Warren Hoffman, I was assigned Andrea Scampoli. Not knowing her name or reputation, I trusted the firm and agreed to her taking point on my case. What followed in the weeks to come was hard but hopeful because of Andrea. Andrea Scampoli was / is nothing short of a heroic, sharp, intelligent, as-a-matter-of-fact, don't F with her, dangerously good attorney. I'm into superheroes and she genuinely behaved like Wonder Woman. She was stoic, understanding, supportive but not wavering. I must say, she did put the other side's attorney to shame in our first meet. The poor guy seemed flustered and searching for pocket-change comebacks but couldn't find any. Whatever the cost, I knew I invested well. I knew I invested well when Andrea fought for my rights and gave me (and was giving me) all that I wanted: My daughter and the my rights to exercise my fatherhood. She made sure I was equal (if not gaining more) in any deal or agreement or compromise. You just have to work with her, be upfront, be honest, and she'll get you what you need (if your requests are reasonable and sound). That was all of February 2020! And some of March before the pandemic hit and we went through our lockdowns. Happily and warranted, it gave me and my suppose-to-be ex-wife time to heal and understand what happened between us. While the courts went quiet, my wife and I took the time to figure things out and ended up on the better side of it. Despite working things out, Andrea still advised and guided me. Every possible process she took care of without any pain or minimized it. One year since our first court appearances, my wife and I and our daughter are happily and lovingly together. Sometimes you have to get through the dirt in order to raise your garden. Thank you Warren, for picking up my call on Saturday, January 11th, 2020. If you are reading this review for the first time, I'm assuming you're looking for a Marital Divorce Attorney. Well, I will tell you this from my own experience most of them are dishonest and will lie to you in your face to get your hard-earned savings and retirement money. The honest ones which are extremely few (2 out of 30) and then you got the dirt bags (98%), the liars and the bloodsuckers. I will tell you to go for a mediator. It will cost you less money, and it will turn out OK with a fair agreement. If that is not possible then you need to be extremely careful who you choose. I wound up picking a very bad attorney, probably one of the worst or the worst attorney on Long Island. Why did I pick a bad attorney because he was a good conman. He promised me everything. For a Father who has had 5 Attorneys and twice Pro-Se, I believe my review and recommendation about Warren Holds Water. I was going through a Tumultuous divorce and custody battle for 7 years until I met Warren. The divorce process is an extremely stressful and overwhelming experience trying to find the right Attorney. Unfortunately, If you do not have the right one from the get go, things get worse. They all tell you what you want to hear, such as; I know the Judge in your case, I don't lose custody cases, we need to get you your kid, but it takes time and we have to crawl before you walk. All these Attorneys give you false hope and promises. The Unethical Attorneys which are most of them have their trick. Every Plaintiff and Defendant must fill out a Net Worth Statement, there they can gage how much they are going to take you for. For me, I did pretty well before my divorce financially. These Attorneys take a retainer from you, do a few things that make you think this Attorney is doing a good job. As time goes on and when you get more involved in the case these Attorneys start neglecting you. They don't take your calls or respond to your e-mails. Then they tell you when you finally get in touch with them is that now we have to do a motion and that will cost $1500.00 and everything else they can milk you for. They just keep leading you on until you realize after lining their pockets that you are net getting anywhere. Well, that what happen to me until I ran out of money and had to twice represent myself which I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Warren was recommended to me by my Therapist. I made an Appointment to see Warren and he also had his Associate Andrea Scampoli in the conference room. We reviewed my case and also told him that I had 4 previous Attorneys. Now a Lawyer has to think, What is wrong with this person! But after discussing my situation and told him who my Attorneys were which he knew two of them we then began to go over my case. I than hired Warren and gave him a retainer. We started getting down to business and filed what ever motions were needed and Andrea Actually represented me in Court. There is no messing with her. She gets the job done. Within six months I had what I wanted from day one, which was 50/50 custody. This team represents you with dignity and respect and are sensitive to your situation. They will always call you back and/or respond to e-mails. Warren and Andrea are the dream team when it comes to divorce. I guarantee you will not need to interview another Attorney after speaking with them. I used Ilene Behar in my divorce, let me start by saying her office is totally unprofessional the amount of mistakes her secretaries made were unbelievable. Ilene overbilled me so much that I had to take her to court to fight my bill and I actually won. Although she completed my divorce I am back in court with another attorney cleaning up her mess of all things she forgot to get signed and follow through with. At first you will think she is so nice, then she becomes this animal, she will never sit with you and go over things she talks at you not to you. She has too many cases and doesn't put her all into any of them she is too worried about how much money she is making off of you. Someone else that used her told me the same thing happened to them. She will not do right by you do not use her there are plenty of other attorneys to pick from she will guide you in all the wrong directions as long as she get paid is all she cares about.
