Two stars only because we like Bernie, our sales guy. He was great…read more We ordered a dining set back in 2023. It came and we thought the color seemed off but we figured sometimes hard to gauge how a table will look based on a small sample. So we carried on. Didn't love the table but also didn't hate it. But we were very aware it didn't match our kitchen cabinets that we matched up the sample with. Fast forward to this summer when we decided to order a coffee table, an end table and entry table in the exact wood and finish as the dining table because with an open concept living concept the last thing we wanted was to to add another shade of wood to the layout. It was already off given the difference in the shade of the table vs our cabinets, which was supposed to match or at least be close. Everything was ordered to match. Yay! Then they deliver the coffee and end tables and they are the EXACT color of the original sample we used to decide on our dining table but definitely NOT the color of the dining table. We loved it but it confirmed-something/someone messed up our dining table finish. They sent out someone to take pics after we reached out.. It's obvious. After a few weeks we then hear there's nothing they can do. Sooo, they mess up, offer no explanation (or even an apology) and....that's it? Very disappointing. At the very least, own your mistake. You're better off at IKEA where you'll know the furniture matches.

As an Okemos native and firm believer in shopping local, it is unfortunate that my experience with…read morethe Pilgrim House was a bad one. I purchased a Bassett leather sofa and reclining chair as well as the extended warranty for both pieces the end of August. 2023. By May 2024 the finish on both pieces of furniture was starting to peel and a stitch coming loose on the seat of the sofa. I contacted the warranty company sending close up pictures. I was told that this was "clearly a manufacturer's defect" and to contact Pilgrim House, which I did immediately. A home visit was scheduled a few weeks later to have someone from Pilgrim House repair department view the pieces. A couple of weeks after the home visit I received a call saying they were contacting Bassett about the problem. Another 3-4 weeks later after my numerous attempts in to find out if Pilgrim House has heard anything I was told they would contact me. Finally at the end of August 2024 I received a call from the Pilgrim House repair department saying Bassett would not do anything more than send a tube of paint to color in the areas that were peeling. I then asked to speak with the owner of Pilgrim House. He returned my call me a few days later. After expressing my shock and displeasure with the proposed resolution, he told me there was nothing more he will do. I asked if he would be satisfied with that answer. I reiterated that the problem started so soon after delivery and I purchased the extended warranty, I was told by the owner in a most unprofessional way that there was nothing else he was going to do. Obviously customer satisfaction was not a priority. It took almost 2 months for Bassett to send the paint and then wait for the repair visit where the paint was applied and the loose stitch fixed. I WOULD NOT recommend Pilgrim House and DEFINITELY would not recommend buying the warranty unless you use knives and sharp tools while sitting on the furniture as that would have been covered.

Klingman's hit it out of the park! I worked with the design team at the Okemos store and they…read morereally took their time to get to know us, our style, and exactly what we were looking for. The plaid chair wasn't even anything I saw in person, but they knew when they saw it, it would fit my aesthetic to a tee. It tied everything together, and all of the furniture is extremely high-quality, durable and so so beautiful! The delivery team went above and beyond to ensure my experience was a positive one as well. They called and checked in the day before, gave a time frame, and were there right on time. Carson and Noah were friendly, polite and super helpful. I won't be going anywhere else for furniture from now on, and we love supporting a local, family owned company. It's the only place my in laws by furniture too, and they have ordered several custom pieces from them that have turned out STUNNING. They literally have every fabric option imaginable, and do an awesome job helping coordinate colors and patterns. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. We'll be back!

Angela was great!! Purchasing went smoothly! Can't wait to get out living room set!…read more That was the purchasing process.... This is after..... Ordered a couch with chaise, ottoman, and chair. Couch gets delivered with the wrong color chaise. Sounds like the chair was lost somewhere and I was told that I need to call the store and have them reorder it, and it's already been 4 weeks. Another 3 weeks later, I call the store and they have the chair ready for pick up. But delivery isn't included because they only deliver one time! The day the couch was delivered it was an all day affair!! Now dealing with this!! The manager said he'd make it right and we could stop into the store. Went in and he gave us a $200 credit. Well, ok, we spent $2,200, only got $225 in discounts to begin with, plus paid for delivery. But I'm trying to be nice! Pick out an accent table for $249 and rug $239. Purchased both off the floor. Get home and look online, the rug is on sale for $180 and the table for $110 not assembled. But we bought it off the floor, so the price should be the same as online!!!! So really, no, we did not get a $200 credit. I just called to find out when our chair is getting delivered and the person tells me they are waiting for the ottoman and table and rug!! What the heck!? We have those!!! That's when she told he that delivery is only one time! Are you kidding me!! No manager is working right now because it's 6:15pm! Again, it's retail, are you kidding me!!! And now here I am, BBB reviews, Google reviews, Bing Reviews. Wish I would have read these reviews before shopping there. I will make sure others do!!! No way someone spending over $2200 should get this kind of run around for 7 weeks!!! Or spend any money!!! We didn't ask for any discounts, didn't haggle, didn't even complain much.
