If House of Value was by the sea, it would sell plastic buckets and spades and fishing nets. In fact even in landlocked Yorkshire it sports a display of multi coloured plastic balls clearly better suited to distant summer holidays than a rainy street in Armley. As it is, it's forced instead to stock the Leeds version of buckets and spades: pitchforks, kitchen roll and umbrellas, all proudly displayed in racks outside the shop. Stocking all the household junk you need and a lot you don't, House of Value is great to pick up something specific you need on the cheap, but not recommended for a spot of casual browsing. read more
