I got her the hotel room, but she did not do well. Everytime I checked she was by the door crying and barking. So I asked if she could go into play group so she wouldn't be lonely. I checked in camera and never saw her in a play group, only locked in her room barking and crying. But I did see in the play groups on camera dogs with no toys or anyone in there playing with them ever. I did see a girl go into one of the areas with a mop and when 2 dogs approached her she shoved them away with the wet mop. No pets, no acknowledgement of them, all they wanted was some attention. Worst part though I saw my dog in her room with poop all over and blood all over. They trimmed of her nails to short and it was bleeding and they didn't do anything to stop the bleeding. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. And will NEVER return. My dog was so stressed.iut when I got her home, she went straight to bed and slept until the next day. Awful. Though expensive, we have had nothing but good experiences keeping our dogs with them until most recently. One of our dogs, a very social and well behaved West Highland terrier, was banned from spending any time with other dogs on the 2nd day of a 7-day stay after bitting another dog. He spent 6 out of the 7 days of our trip either in the kennel or, for some reason, the hallway outside the kennel while our other dog was in the kennel--a very strange decision given that he's great with our other dog. Why not have them in the same space? Though my Westie has never shown signs of violence or aggressiveness before, I realize the need for them to be careful and protect the other dogs, but no one at American Pet Resort contacted us to tell us what had occurred. We learned after looking at the online cameras. There we saw our Westie confined to his kennel while all the other dogs, including our second dog, were playing outside. Why didn't someone from the kennel call us to let us know? That kind of proactive communication is something I expect. I was none too pleased to find out what happened only after having to make a call to find out why our Westie was left alone in his kennel during outside time. While away, I made a call suggesting the staff place my Westie and my second dog in a separate outdoor space with one another. The staff member I spoke to said they would do so, but they only did so once. Our Westie spent the next 5 days out of our 7 day trip in either in his kennel or the hallway (?) just outside of the kennel, and has been banned from outdoor play with other dogs during future visits. We will make sure that there will be no future visits.
