They sell a good story, but after you are in, the dream becomes a nightmare. We live about 35 minutes away and are happy with our church, which is closer to home. We knew the church was nice and really enjoyed the services, but we were still very impressed when we came back to tour the GCA side of the church campus. The facilities are new, well maintained, and very clean. The entire staff, from the teachers to the front office, were friendly, kind, and even caring. They definitely helped set a solid foundation for her. I cannot say enough about the job that both teachers did to help with the development of her social skills and character. We would have kept her there for elementary, but the hours and commute were not conducive to my work schedule. I would highly recommend looking into GCA if you are considering preschool or private school in the Lake Norman area.

But more than that it has given my naturally shy, reserved son an amazing confidence and love of learning that has transformed him. He started Woodlawn as a person who could barely look an adult in the eye because of shyness, and ended the year doing a solo poetry reading at the school talent show. He started the year wary of the wealthy show-offs and bullies he had encountered at a Lake Norman preschool, and ended with 11 of the best friends he has ever had -- all 11 of his classmates. The teachers at this school are truly amazing, and beyond the beautiful school grounds, are the real gem of this school. We have never seen teachers who care so much about the success of each one child. They are truly shaping our son into the kind of caring, unselfish, hard-working, confident person we want him to become, and we could not be more grateful. Thank you Woodlawn!!

I called earlier and ask if it would be aright to have it; since it is no bags. Walking to the away side is horrible, do these schools not think about people that have medical issues? I saw so many diaper bags, but that fine. It's a shame schools do not think about people.
