I had no idea what I was doing day 1 but my practice grows with each class. The instructors are kind, funny, energetic, and skilled at teaching and cueing the moves so everyone is doing them correctly and safely. Not only that but the community always brings the same energy and makes the studio a safe and fun place to work out. The classes have enough repetition to build strength and form but enough differences to keep you on your toes (sometimes literally). I haven't run into any of the issues that some of the negative reviews here have, so I can't speak to my experience trying to freeze my membership or anything like that. I also have not tried classical pilates to compare. But personally, I feel like I get my money's worth every time and even with my busy schedule it is never a challenge to book classes.

I have been taking Agnes classes for 2 years ( took a break while pregnant ) and started back up a month post partum. In the beginner class, you can take it easy as you need if you're starting out and gradually add more to challenging yourself. She changes up her flow and class every week, so you are consistently working different areas of the body. I took yoga classes at random and used to feel it a slow boring waste of time more or less a relaxing class that does "stretching". I love to lift and do intense endurance cardio. It wasn't until going here consistently that I was blown away with the fitness aspect of yoga- the strength/flexibility/core stability/etc. involved. You will be challenged more than you possibly think and I promise the health benefits, both mentally and physically, will surprise you! I highly recommend Melt and the classes here. The machines are old and the treadmills are largely not functional, especially when trying to connect Bluetooth. The best parts of this gym are the nice locker room facilities, pickleball courts, and the indoor/outdoor pool areas. Personal trainers are hit or miss and the cafe is super expensive. We have since left for a smaller, less expensive gym that doesn't have a pool, though with the $30/person it's perfect for our family. Also, many of the stock footage images do not reflect the actual location. Take a tour before you make a decision.

Cardio tennis programs are fun too. The upstairs fitness areas have plenty of cardio options, and there is an indoor tracks around the exterior if you want to walk or run on the floor. There are several varieties of weight lifting machines and a large free weight area. Bonus space behind the free weights is open floor so ace and specialized machines for strength. There are always fitness trainers giving people a lesson or orientation so it's friendly to all levels of fitness. Saunas and pool are a bonus.

We did a 1p hot yoga class which was invigorating. The instructor, Sarah, had amazing music choice which is very important to me and she came around to correct my posture whenever I needed it. The heat was definitely intense, but also very relaxing. At the end of the cool down, the instructor came around and put a cold wet towel infused with lavender on your forehead. Never knew I needed that after a session of hot yoga! Serious game changer! After yoga, we toured the whole facility. There's a steam room with a cold plunge bath... I mean, what?! The showers were equipped with Aésop shampoo and conditioner as well as a specialty house-made body wash! Everything smelled so divine, very earthy and natural like a spa! There were also private rooms for naps and massages. After we showered, we headed upstairs for smoothies. The Aegean one was my favorite. It was like having an oatmeal shake! So good! Biân is a state of the art wellness center. Every inch of the place was so mindfully thought out and really evokes a sense of zen being. Doctor Frank Bohnenkamp recommended "Jake" at Team Rehabilitation PT. Jake is very professional, very knowledgeable, knows just how far to push you in a very pleasant way, and really gets to know you. All his staff are wonderful and very pleasant to work with. What I like about Jake is that while I'm doing my exercises/repetitions he may step off to help another patient but he is always keeping an eye on you. I went to Team Rehab in Algonquin two years ago for physical therapy as a result of a car accident…read more The fact that I was there as a result of a car accident was made abundantly clear when I filled out all the paperwork and had my initial physical examination by Jake Awendar. I am on Medicare, and my Medicare card and supplemental BC/BS information was given. However, Team Rehab of Algonquin never billed Medicare for my physical therapy sessions. Instead, they put a lien against my eventual settlement of the car accident. None of this was made known to me. No one ever told me that there was any question about billing my Medicare insurance. When Team Rehab of Algonquin was contacted by the attorney handling my accident, they said they had switched to a new billing system, & admitted that my case was billed incorrectly. Team Rehab of Algonquin insisted on $5000 of repayment that came out of my settlement for the car accident. So why did I have to pay for Team Rehab of Algonquin's admitted billing error? The right thing to do would have been for Team Rehab of Algonquin to chalk it up to their admitted mistake and eat the $5000. I will absolutely not recommend an establishment with such shoddy practices. My advice to anyone seeking physical therapy at Team Rehab of Algonquin after an accident is to triple check their billing practices!
