The hotel garage is very very small and not really worth maneuvering one's boat-like vehicle into-not that they have many spaces really. The Hirschen lies in the shadow of the town's Burg Museum which has some nice pieces from the last 200 years. I have to say, though, that my favorite aspect was the food. Delicious just doesn't cover it. The breakfast buffet (6 Euro while I was there) is a tantalizing selection of cheese, meat, cereals (natural whole grain products), yogurts, fruits and juices. The Lunch and Dinner menus were equally enjoyable. (My favorite dessert was the Zwetschgenbavesen, a hot plum and ice cream delight.) They also have a nice microbrewery from which you can select both local and national beers. The Hirschen is Family run and it shows in every aspect from the front desk service to the individualized care of the wait staff. Only my brother and sister-in-law speak German and most employees didn't speak English. It was a little difficult to decipher things a couple times, but everyone was EXTREMELY helpful. Two of our three rooms were upgraded automatically because of a wedding party that would have kept people awake (my room was in a different building, so not a problem). Everything was well appointed and comfortable. Their hearts/love theme was carried throughout the property very well and didn't seem kitschy. Breakfast was yummy traditional German fare: 3 minute eggs, breads, meats, cheeses, yogurt and fruit. All in all, a good place to stay that was a good value!
