Luckily I took 4 time-stamped videos of the minibar AND snacks upon arrival and departure that show that nothing was moved. And almost $9 for water... Das crazy When I corrected the front desk, they folded immediately and said they'd refund me. But I can't imagine how many people were unknowingly charged for something they didn't take. Kind of scummy if you ask me! --- Incredible price for a 2-night stay. I chose Hotel ZaZa for my work trip and came away wholly impressed. If it weren't for my schedule, I would've loved to stay a week and enjoyed their amenities to the fullest...! Bold, flashy, almost-campy decor. I love a hotel with personality ^_^ My room was no different. Patterns and colors everywhere. It was as comfortable as it was eclectic. PROS: - Very quiet. And dark. Excellent insulation all around - Extremely clean and tidy. Housekeeping is thorough - Updated and plentiful outlets near the bed - Strong water pressure in the shower. Adored the the shower products-- light, herbal spa scents, didn't irritate my sensitive skin :3 - Comfortable bed & sheets. I slept like a log - 12 PM checkout by default - Friendly and responsive staff whenever I was in touch with the front desk CONS: - The mini fridge was stocked to the gills with alcohol (not complimentary, ofc). Convenient if you wanted that, but I needed space for my leftovers lol - No microwave, can be requested tho - TV has a red light that doesn't turn off at night (???) But the cons are really negligible. I didn't have a chance to check out their fitness area, pool, or spa-- making it a goal to try them my next visit. Not once did we feel uneasy (and we live in the Houston area - did a staycation for my husband's birthday). A few years ago, it would be a different story. There are a few homeless in the general area, but they aren't disruptive. We stayed in room 705, complete with a city view. It was quiet and lovely. I wish the rooms had a full-size fridge and cooking area, but for downtown, the suites are just as big as a studio apartment. There's space-themed decor throughout the hotel. I found the valet pricing to be a bit steep, and unfortunately, I have reason to believe two pairs of sunglasses were stolen from my vehicle. (I realize they should have been put in my purse immediately after use, but it slipped my mind, and out of habit, I put them in the console.) Regardless, it's frustrating. It also took 10-15 minutes for valet to pull our car around, so that's something to keep in mind. The evening reception was nice, especially with the two drinks/person/night. We had chips and queso, though they had a few other offerings. Make sure you get the card at the front desk. The front desk staff will also try to sell you on destinations for a cheap rate. I'm not sure when this became a thing, but instead of telling us about the evening reception and breakfast, they tried selling us on a stay in Chicago. I really just wanted to go to our room since I did everything on the app. We also found the breakfast to be worth every penny to stay in this hotel. I can't have gluten, and there isn't any GF bread. I had eggs, potatoes, grits, and coffee. There were cereal, fruit, yogurt, and waffle-making options as well. I appreciated the coffee bar having various syrups. The hotel was extremely accessible for those with disabilities/handicaps. We saw several people in wheelchairs or with assistance. Hearsay on the Green is inside the hotel, and the food is priced well for what you get (and it's excellent). If you DoorDash, the Dasher has to leave your food/items at the front desk. They are not permitted to go up to guest rooms. The rooftop pool and hot tub offer views of the city and Toyota Center (excellent people watching). Overall, I'd stay again (but I'd ensure I brought my cheap sunglasses and not my Maui Jims).

When we ask they provide a crib for us that they bring up to our room. It's a 3min walk to the convention center. The fridge works a bit too well and freezes my son's milk and our food, which does cayse some waste, they do have a microwave in room which is nice. Couch is a pull out bed if needed. They provide a free breakfast buffet with a omlett bar. Food is always hot and fresh, they have staff manning it and serving it on ur plate to expedite the line amd for sanitation reasons. The eggs could be better they have a chalky taste. But the bacon and potatoes more than make up for that. Staff is always warm and welcoming, making sure everything is OK. My favorite amenity that draws me to the Marriott Marquis is the Texas-shaped lazy river, their pool and jacuzzi. Near the pool, there are endless pool chairs and cabanas (available to rent) for people to choose from which is helpful. There is a bar and restaurant available near the pool and sometimes there is live music playing which are great perks as well. Other amenities are their fitness center and the spa which are also on the same level as the pool (level 6) so everything is close range to each other. Whether you are looking for a venue to host a conference or a luxurious place for a vacation (or even staycation), I highly recommend this hotel.

Their morning breakfast is amazing with soooo many options. 8, that's right 8 waffle irons! I've never seen so many. The breakfast space is nicely laid out and there is decent seating. Coffee was also a crowd pleaser. We don't have housekeeping service so I can't speak on that. The day we arrived their digital keys were having issues so to a system issue so ended up going old school with standard keys. The next day it was fixed. Not sure what happened at the pool as the first morning there was drained but was refilled an open to guests in the evening.

There was a lot of open space in addition to the king bed and the living room area. Even though it was February, it was actually quite warm and humid inside the room. We had recently experienced temperatures in the teens in Dallas, so being in a room with the temperature in the mid 70s, seemed unbearably hot. We had to find the A/C and turn the temperature down a few degrees. The hotel is located near the arts district where we were planning to spend our Saturday. The earliest we could checkin was 3pm, so we spent our day visiting the city and just left our luggage in the car. Checkin was super easy since we already had a reservation. Parking was included. The property has a fence around it, so the parking felt relatively secure. It was also well lit. The spots in the front were mostly taken, but you could drive around to the back of the building and easily find a space. The hotel has an elevator, but it is very slow. We used the stairs quite a bit, but found the elevator useful for carrying our bags upstairs. The view was limited and not very appealing, but the building only has about three floors. Amenities like a pool, gym, and laundry facility were also available at no added charge. The Wifi name and password were printed on the room key to make it easy to connect. Breakfast was included. The breakfast area had several tables. the meal is buffet style. They do have hot items like scrambled eggs, sausage, and breakfast tacos. You can make a waffle or toast bread or a bagel. Cold items like juice, yogurt, cereal are also an option. Two staff members were there making sure food was readily available and that things were kept clean. There were a few items that bothered me about this particular hotel. One, there was no TV reception in my room. I couldn't believe there weren't any channels, not even local channels! I was also annoyed that the bathroom sink was not draining properly. My husband had to play with it to get it to drain at all, and even then, it took a very long time for the water in the sink to empty after washing my hands or brushing my teeth. Lastly, the light switch at the entrance of the room only controlled the lighting in the entryway. I had to go around and turn on individual lights to feel like it wasn't so dark. These were minor inconveniences, but for the price, I would have expected these not to be an issue at all. The staff at the front desk were very pleasant and went out of their way to help me. On the day of our departure, my husband wasn't feeling well. They provided me with some bottled water as well as a Sprite to help his stomach. I was so touched by this offer. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We both got a good night's sleep.

The side door from the rear parking didn't work initially, forcing us to walk around the building in freezing weather. When reported, the same receptionist was dismissive, saying no one informed her. Despite the convenient location, this was quite an unpleasant stay and we will not return!

The only drawback is parking - the usual self-park garage was closed during some nearby construction, meaning that if you're staying here this summer or fall, you'll have to choose between valet parking ($80/night) or else a pretty hefty hike to garages that allow overnight and in/out parking. Note: Indoor pool only. Not nearly as cool as the rooftop pool and lazy river at the other Convention Center hotel.

The flawless service started at the door with Sam, who welcomed us with the most cheerful and polite attitude. At the front desk, Kevin made absolute magic happen. He quickly coordinated with housekeeping to get us into a room for a very early check-in, and he was incredibly personable and fun to visit with. Kevin also rushed to our aid with a first-aid kit when my son had a little fall, showing just how deeply they care about their guests. The incredible service extended everywhere. The bartenders are masters of their craft--extremely knowledgeable and brilliant at making you feel special the second you sit at the bar. We even crossed paths with the owner in the elevator; he went completely out of his way to welcome us and ensure our stay was pleasant. He is such a warm, thoughtful gentleman, and his hospitality clearly sets the standard for the entire hotel. Late one night, the hotel manager performed another absolute miracle--since the rooms feature a sleek, drawer-style fridge, she found a separate place to securely store our three bulky takeout bags from dinner.
