I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical to come here. I came to Zurich for a business meeting and asked a fellow colleague where he was staying. He said this place, as it was suggested by our company's travel booking agency. Although one of the cheaper places to stay in Zurich, it had free wi-fi, private bathrooms, central to everything, and even had free outlet converters! Even walking in, the main cafe area was cute, and where I decided to take a few conference calls, while completing some emails. Also, this place is pretty clean, thank goodness. And surprisingly, the bed was comfortable! These were all nice surprises, as it is definitely not a looker!
*Funny experience- While walking around after checking in, I noticed a lot of "adult" type stores.. but thought maybe that is just Europe, and it's liberal here? Wrong! This hotel is in the red-light district... no wonder those men whistled at me earlier... eek! No problems in the day time, but at night, the women come out to play (and they are not lookers, but more on the seasoned side, and rocking the worn-down look), and so does everyone else. I wouldn't say it isn't safe, but it definitely appeared to be a bit more rough looking... common streets smart should solve this issue. read more
