We have found that searching out the small hotels in quaint little towns is your best bet. This Hotel is wonderful and the food is incredible. Very friendly and cordial to a middle aged couple touring Germany from Frankfurt to Munich. read more

So we were given 2 rooms for the price of a triple room to make this happen. The breakfast was full service and many options. It also about a 15 minute drive from the castle. The staff and hotel are wonderful!!!!!!!!!

The perfect cross between hotel amenities and bed and breakfast ease and price! It's an historic,…read morelarge home that has been converted. We stayed in the suites that included a small kitchen area but never ended up using that kitchen because the breakfasts were so delicious and we were too busy exploring the amazing castles nearby. The accomodations are very clean and comfortable and the home is situated conveniently to good places to eat and shop. The owners were extremely friendly and very helpful with whatever we needed - and, as we were Americans on our first visit to the area, we had a lot of questions! The only slight drawback is that you can't check in until 4:30. We arrived at 3:30 and tried to drop off our suitcases and ask for dining suggestions and were turned away (the owners do not live on-sight and aren't even there until the scheduled time.). The check-in time is stated on the reservations sights so it really isn't a problem that I would ever deduct points for but it should be noted.

If you are like me and generally only order soup on a cold day just to warm you through you will miss out on a wonderful delight at this restaurant. I came here with my family one day on the way back from a weekend trip. We stopped here and my son and husband both ordered soup. I had a little taste and haven't forgotten how wonderful it was. We are back again and I ordered the lobster bisque which was again quite amazing the portion sizes here are just right for a average meal but are not as big as most german restaurants. If you are really hungary make sure you order more than one course. There is a nice fish menu as well as a meat menu and a wild game selection. I did only see one vegetarian choice though. I love this place. It sits in the valley overlooked by a fairytale castle. Oh and the menu is in English.
