I was happy to be at such a short distance from the museum, and the room was very comfortable. The staff are kind and the breakfast, dinner, and service in general were all pleasant and more than adequate. They even prepared a breakfast bag for me to take with me when I mentioned that I needed to check out extremely early in the morning before the breakfast started. I was not thrilled with the music piped into all of the hallways and staircases and lobby, because I could still hear it even inside my room with the door shut, but when I asked at the reception desk, they turned it down (and later turned it off when I went back to say that I could still hear it inside my room with the door closed.

The restaurants are delicious. The waitress was happy to make recommendations. I was there in July, and it was unusually cold. The waitress recommended a hearty traditional Polish soup that I loved. I found everything to be very reasonably priced, and a great value. There is also a spa onsite that I didn't try. I will next time. Hotel Galicja is a lovely place I would love to return to. If you are looking for accommodations that are close to Auschwitz, this is extremely close. It is only a few minutes by car. The hotel is on the outskirts of Oswiecim.

The Hampton was a great hotel to stay at because it reminded me how awesome American hotels are. Not saying that European hotels are not awesome. They are! In a different way. Our room had a very comfortable queen bed and a nice cool air conditioning system. We've been dying in hot hotel rooms this whole trip. If you're going to visit Auschwitz as we are in the morning I highly recommend the Hampton. They will give you big buckets of ice from the bar with a big smile. Something I haven't experienced before in Europe. This hotel is great. It will be the last hotel I ever stay at BEFORE meeting my beautiful cousin Joanna and her fiancé Michelle in Krakow this weekend. The highlight of and the main reason I took this trip to begin with! How can it be that I've lived 63 years and im just now meeting these awesome people in my family? Im just glad that I can!
