I am midway through a multiple day stay at the Nido. I carefully selected a hotel in the area based on previous hotel reviews and location to the National Park. For location to the park it gets 5 stars: its within the park and 1000 meters to the gondola and 30 min drive to campo where you have high alpine hiking. Hotel staff have been cordial and helpful. The provided room gets 2 stars since it has 0 windows, very basic style, is noisy being next to the lounge, a semi-hazardous door lock system since you cannot leave the room without using a key, and poor internet connection. The bed is about average to iron board firm. As of the experience so far, I would look for a better place to stay.
About the restaurant, breakfast was above average with provisions except for the use of cheap plastic cups. In such a nice restaurant why not use glass? Dinner was with mixed reviews. Cod fish was wet and too greasy, fettuccine with mushrooms was excellent, meat plate was super grilled well done, more than i like, but still tender. Shish-kabob pieces were cut small which appears to be the typical presentation. Wine selection and quality was good. Ambience was nice and semi-formal. read more
