This place isn't going to be everybody's cup of tea, it's not the modern 4 star you may find in the metropolitan cities of Europe these days but it has its own unique and glowing charm to it. From the grand drive up to the entrance to the Moorish influenced architecture and orange trees overhanging the outdoor summer eating area. Our room was an average size, with a decent balcony, our room also had a massive bathroom (almost as big as the bedroom), the beds were comfortable and the hanging space was more than ample. The TV had seen better days but worked perfectly (even showing a live premier league game in the afternoon, albeit with Spanish commentary). The food in the buffet-style restaurant was varied and delicious, certainly of a higher quality than other hotels I have stayed in with self-service facilities. I believe an all-inclusive option is available for a very reasonable price direct from the hotel. We stayed on a Saturday evening and were fortunate to witness the Spanish dancing that is held in the hotel on Saturday evenings, which was spectacular. All in all, a lovely experience, I would definitely return.

It was conveniently located to jet across the boarder to scope out Gibraltar yet is better positioned on the Spanish side of the boarder for delicious tapas and good nightlife. I slept really well and the next morning we enjoyed the amazing selection at the buffet breakfast then I went for a swim in the pool before we checked out - wonderful! The only things to note were that the pool is unfortunately only open 10am - 7pm but that was ok for us in the end. They also have very secure on site parking which is €10 per night and very convenient. I'd recommend this place - great value compared to other places we found and the front desk staff was super helpful!

The location is the downfall, although central to the port, it doesn't offer much in the way of things near by. Other than that, fantastic.

This hotel lies in a newly constructed low-rise where one side is the AC Marriott and the other…read moreside is a Hotel Mercure - I found this a bid odd but I guess it works. The rooms have a modern decor but unfortunately modern in this case also means cheap. The beds are somewhat uncomfortable so you basically get what you pay for. This is a lower standard of hotel than a regular Marriott but for a few nights it works well. Breakfast was included and was very good. Dinner was disappointing in every way. I had a steak which was tough and my coworker had a chicken or probably an old hen which was very tough. Since we came for New Years Eve our choices were limited. Overall the staff was very friendly and helpful.

This establishment need a serious training of their staff they aren't welcoming at all!!! First they assigned us a glass table that was broken( picture attached) and second they wouldn't even change our table because the 10 others were set for dinner but not one of them was actually taken. They were just lazy to remove the silverware. They didn't even get our order right even though it is not that hard to remember 2 drinks. For a 4 star hotel I was expecting better service DONT WAIST YOUR TIME!!!

At 11 pm on a Tuesday night, I am wide awake on a very hard bed with a bright green exit light…read moreilluminating the entire room, listening to Jumping Jack Flash from the band that started playing 30 minutes ago. The sewage smell in the elevator is a lot less strong than it was earlier today, and the sewage smell from the bathroom is mild but distinctive. The thermostat says 53 (too cold for the room in Fahrenheit and too warm for Celsius) and is broken. I'm cold, and there isnt an extra blanket in the room. I haven't complained to the front desk because I'm not sure how they could possibly fix everything wrong here.

Great location, but don't be confused by the Marriott Hotel which is on the back side of this same…read morebuilding. There is no hotel sign on the roof or anywhere else from the road. Free parking on the side, paralleling the main street, between these two hotels is a big plus. The bathroom is amazingly small given the huge entry space on one side and the huge wasted space on the other for watching TV. Seriously you can brush your teeth and use the toilet at the same time. But, you can't get into the shower safety. Who designed this place leaving all that wasted space on other side. Downright dangerous in that cramped space. It's nuts. And why haven't they finished decorating? No furniture other than a single chair in that TV room and no pictures on the walls. Nice bed but absolutely rock hard pillow, which I had to replace with a bathroom towel. Looks like they recently bought the place from next door. Overall, good value for the money but that bathroom needs rethinking for sure!
