I felt safe, but not sure I would do it with the family or if I was a single women. You kinda have to walk thru the "projects" to get there. The hotel staff was nice. The buffet breakfast and afternoon expresso was well appreciated. Free wifi in the lobby, but in the room it was expensive. Also, the upload speed was dreadfully slow. Just some general advice, if you're going Gibraltar more than once, stay in Gibraltar. The border crossing (especially coming back into Spain) is really a pain in the a$$. Also, don't forget your passports, you are leaving Spain and entering into British Territory.

We were really happy with our stay here. Parking in the garage was a bit of a nightmare, but the…read morefact that it had a garage was a bonus. We had flown into Malaga and driven down (about 1.5 hours). Our room was nice and clean, but fairly bare bones. A good room for spending most of your time out exploring. Bathroom door doesn't shut all the way since it is a swinging glass door and I wish they provided conditioner as well as shampoo, but those are minor annoyances. The location was perfect. We were able to walk over to Gibraltar and not worry about parking or driving. It was also very close to a lot of restaurants and bars on the Spain side. Good wifi connection as well. They also have a small shop of wine, soda, water, and small snacks that are available 24/7 from the front desk.

This place isn't going to be everybody's cup of tea, it's not the modern 4 star you may find in the metropolitan cities of Europe these days but it has its own unique and glowing charm to it. From the grand drive up to the entrance to the Moorish influenced architecture and orange trees overhanging the outdoor summer eating area. Our room was an average size, with a decent balcony, our room also had a massive bathroom (almost as big as the bedroom), the beds were comfortable and the hanging space was more than ample. The TV had seen better days but worked perfectly (even showing a live premier league game in the afternoon, albeit with Spanish commentary). The food in the buffet-style restaurant was varied and delicious, certainly of a higher quality than other hotels I have stayed in with self-service facilities. I believe an all-inclusive option is available for a very reasonable price direct from the hotel. We stayed on a Saturday evening and were fortunate to witness the Spanish dancing that is held in the hotel on Saturday evenings, which was spectacular. All in all, a lovely experience, I would definitely return.
