This might be the nicest hotel/resort I have ever been to in my life...and by nicest I mean…read moreluxurious, comfortable, relaxing, charming, expansive and much much more. Lets start with the wonderfully friendly and efficient staff. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with smiling faces. Everyone seemingly loves there job...I get it as its a wonderful place to be. We had a sea view suite and they added 2 roll away cots in the sitting area for our children. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us. We had a great patio where we could sit and have a glass of wine while they slept. My husband played golf 3 of the 4 days and said it was a great course (I believe you have to have a handicap to play, otherwise he would have taken my 8 year old son with him one of the days.) We never left the hotel for a meal as the food is so good. Usually we try to find some authentic local food restaurants, but Finca Cortesin ropes you in so that you don't want to leave. We ate at Don Giovanni 2 nights which we loved. We found the pizzas and pasts to be excellent and a great atmosphere just across the road from the front entrance. We had lunch one day at the beach club which is pricey for children (no kids menu) but enjoyable with a bottle of rose, paella and some great salad options. One night we fed the kids at the more casual bar patio which has bar food and a children's menu (very reasonably priced kids food) and brought them upstairs to bed so we could try the adults only Raw Kabuki restaurant which is very expensive but absolutely delicious--sashimi, fried rice, tempura, carpaccio--small, excellent and not stuffy. Again, the servers made the whole experience terrific. I would be extremely remiss if I didn't mention the breakfast--best breakfast I have ever had at a hotel. You are given fresh yogurt, fruit, a fresh bread basket with an excellent assortment of goodies and of course parma ham, manchego cheese etc and then....you can order a la cart in addition. My husband had the eggs benedict every day because it was that good. My daughter said the french toast was the best she has ever had (and I think I make a pretty mean french toast.) And my son loved the pancakes, french toast and eggs benedict...while I was quite happy with the bread basket and the assortment of other goodies. The pools and the beach club were just so picturesque, I could have moved right in...We would go right to the pool after breakfast and wouldn't leave until 6-7pm. It was pure heaven. We did have the opportunity to see the cottages and they were huge. You could easily fit 2 families of 4 in a cottage--they have a gourmet kitchen, 4 bedrooms and its own infinity pool. I wish I was still there!! But I guess if every day were a vacation, vacation wouldn't feel so special...though living at Finca Cortesin sure sounds good as I write this review!!

It was a little cold so we paid the $16 Euro for a day pass to the spa and used the heated indoor pool. Well worth it. Complimentary breakfast everyday was fresh and really good. I ate lunch at the same restaurant that serves breakfast. I got the club sandwich and was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely get it again. We played the Pinos and Lagos courses and they were great. We didn't get much time to walk around the grounds or even spend time at the hotel bar. We were so busy with day trips everywhere. I would highly recommend NH Almenara.

Distinctive pink architecture and wide outdoor spaces are perfect for conference or leisure groups. A fairly recent EUR7 million refurbishment of all 148 rooms and suites has revitalized the distinctively Spanish decors with all modern amenities. The aspirational Imperial Suite is a marvel. Split-level with the top floor a glass box on top of the hotel, the entertainment areas have a private bar, leather sofa suites and a telescope to survey the entire coastline. The Beachfront too has been redone for the summer season with landscaping and furniture. The health club is small but perfect for basic workouts, but my favourite place was the swim-up bar in the lovely lagoons and whiling away the day in the sunny gardens.

It was conveniently located to jet across the boarder to scope out Gibraltar yet is better positioned on the Spanish side of the boarder for delicious tapas and good nightlife. I slept really well and the next morning we enjoyed the amazing selection at the buffet breakfast then I went for a swim in the pool before we checked out - wonderful! The only things to note were that the pool is unfortunately only open 10am - 7pm but that was ok for us in the end. They also have very secure on site parking which is €10 per night and very convenient. I'd recommend this place - great value compared to other places we found and the front desk staff was super helpful!

This establishment need a serious training of their staff they aren't welcoming at all!!! My…read morehusband and I stoped by to have a drink and enjoy the view but our experience was far from enjoyable. First they assigned us a glass table that was broken( picture attached) and second they wouldn't even change our table because the 10 others were set for dinner but not one of them was actually taken. They were just lazy to remove the silverware. They didn't even get our order right even though it is not that hard to remember 2 drinks. For a 4 star hotel I was expecting better service DONT WAIST YOUR TIME!!!

At 11 pm on a Tuesday night, I am wide awake on a very hard bed with a bright green exit light…read moreilluminating the entire room, listening to Jumping Jack Flash from the band that started playing 30 minutes ago. The sewage smell in the elevator is a lot less strong than it was earlier today, and the sewage smell from the bathroom is mild but distinctive. The thermostat says 53 (too cold for the room in Fahrenheit and too warm for Celsius) and is broken. I'm cold, and there isnt an extra blanket in the room. I haven't complained to the front desk because I'm not sure how they could possibly fix everything wrong here.
