Stayed here for 4 nights while in Prague or Praha as the locals call it. It was actually a recommended hotel from Rick Steves Prague travel book. The location is excellent. It's located in Old Town, which is very central to a lot of the sites. It's about a 4 minute walk to Old Town Square, 15 minute walk to Wenceslas Square in New Town and 12 minute walk to Charles Bridge.
My friend and I got a room on the top floor in a building separate from the building where the lobby is. To get into that building, you actually have to use your room key which unlocked an outside door which is part of a huge wooden gate. Whenever you leave the room, you are told to leave the key by the front desk for safekeeping. Plus, you don't want to carry that big paper weight which the key is chained to.
The front desk staff is very friendly. They helped us book very memorable tour to Kutna Hora, which is a small mining village about an hour drive from Prague. For which tour, I actually paid with US dollars because I had some with me at the time. The price was very reasonable for the half day guided tour.
The room that I said in was clean and very spacious. We had a window that gave a nice view of the busy street below. The room even had a bidet which is not something you see in the US. Note: there is an elevator but it is very small, probably the smallest I've seen and it will be a tight squeeze if you put 2 people in there.
Breakfast buffet is included in the price. You get a wide variety of fresh bread, cheeses, and meats. My favorite breakfast item is the fresh mini croissant with powdered sugar on top. The dining room is actually in the cellar of the restaurant next to our building. To get to it, you take these winding circular narrow stairwell that can barely fit 2 people side by side. From breakfast, we noticed that the other guests are mostly older US retirees.
Overall, this is a great hotel with a fantastic location. I'll probably stay here again if come back to Prague in the future. read more
