We were recommended this hotel because the food is amazing. First night, we went with our hosts for a later dinner at 8pm (we flew in late) and we ordered the mushroom risotto and steak in sauce of chanterelles. Amazing. Not just because we were hungry, but it was genuinely so tasty! The risotto was creamy, the bacon wrapped pork was cooked to perfection and the sauce with the steak-- I could drink that! The staff was prompt and polite even with our later reservation and checked on our drinks regularly. It's a cozy atmosphere with not a ton of seating. It an upscale feel but you don't need to be dressed fancy! Please note they are not open for dinner on Sundays-- so tonight (Monday) we came again and I can confirm we weren't just starving the first night of our arrival. The food is insanely good! We ordered: chicken gnocchi, beef sirloin with bacon and quail egg, and salad with fresh goat cheese. For an added cost we added steak to the salad and it was amazing! Really added a nice protein element to the bright and fresh salad! We also got the foccasia and dipping oils (I would probably skip this next time) but the bacon potatoes side was incredible and so were the mashed potatoes with spring onions! For dessert we got the crème brûlée and grilled pineapple. Don't sleep on the grilled pineapple! It was such a light and refreshing dessert that didn't feel too heavy! read more
