We had an excellent stay. The gentlemen working here have been great and helped us make dinner reservations.
Our room (chambre) number 3 has a view of the street and the port Bassin. It was easily accessed up one flight of stairs. It has a nice open area with hard wood floors. There is a large bed, two twins pushed together, and another bed in the corner that I believe pulls out into a double, but we did not use it.
There is a carafe of water provided and an espresso machine.
The bathroom has a tub with a shower hose and a sink, then a shower closet and a toilet closet. This makes getting ready very efficient because I can do my hair etc at the mirror while husband uses shower or toilet. Bath products are lovely made in France goodies; combination Shampoo/body wash and lotion.
The location of the hotel is 10/10. It could not be better. It is very quiet at night. Last night was the best sleep I've had after 5 previous nights in 3 other hotels around Normandy. No creaking, slamming, buzzing. Just peace.
The only difficulty was dragging our luggage over cobblestones from the parking garage. But everything else was seamless. We should have followed suggestion to drop luggage before parking the car. It was only about 6 minutes walk. Parking garage access code was provide before arrival. And as with everywhere in France it's best to communicate your arrival time to avoid doors being locked or staff being away from the desk.
Breakfast is offered, you must fill out a card the night before with choices and preferred time. The breakfast room is near the lobby. We had soft boiled eggs, baguette, pain au chocolate, bacon, americanos (finally a big coffee!) and fruit. Very good butter and jam were provided. My husband also had granola and milk.
I would highly recommend this hotel and I hope I make it back again someday soon.
Also the best dinner of our visit was nearby at Cotê Resto, get the oysters, the Norman Hole, and the filet of beœf! read more
