I spent five lovely nights at the Hotel Konigsteiner Hof. Being that it was November I didn't mind there not being any air conditioning. The room was bright and colorful. The hotel is family run and they have a restaurant which offers breakfast daily from 0700 to 0900 and dinner most evenings. The hotel was clean, comfortable and neat. They had colored towels instead of the usual white ones which I found refreshing. The bathrooms need a little TLC. The bathtub needed re-glazed or replaced, and re-grouted and sealed. The shower head needed descaling. Other than that I had no complaints. It is located on the town Marktplatz (town square), close to multiple shops, bakeries and other restaurants. I never was able to sample the food in the hotel restaurant but the menu looked like it would be a great place to eat. I would not recommend staying here in the summer because of the lack of a/c. The town is quite as are the rooms. Konigstein is close to many popular places like Regensburg and Wieden but offers a quiet retreat from those very popular tourist destinations. I would stay here again in the cooler months of the year. It's a lovely place. read more
