SEEhotel Friedrichshafen is an absolute ****show, an unmitigated embarrassment. Take a look at the…read morephotos - what was advertised (first three photos) is clearly NOT what was provided (last three photos) - and as you bask in how horrid the room is, know that they charged €156 for it. What a joke. I was booked into a dark, dingy, poorly lit room, with a sh***y (pun intended, I guess) restroom whose shower door couldn't even open fully due to being block by the goddamn toilet, that has peeling pant on the "window sill" (to call it that is to use the term incredibly loosely), bugs on the walls, wall sockets and a temperature control unit that I'm pretty sure are here from the 1960s and/or Soviet Russia, and a bed that wouldn't even be foisted off on a criminal. Don't even get me started on the monosyllabic night guard who thinks beaming his flashlight into your eyes REPEATEDLY is good customer service, and can hardly speak to save his life, but that's a minor quibble compared to everything else that is so catastrophically wrong with this place. About the ONLY two things of positive note are its location, which is nice, and the day desk staff being friendly (in the brief time I interacted with them). That's it. Everything else is pretty horrid. The manager of this establishment should be embarrassed in themselves, and in this hotel.

Friedrichshafen is not a large town by any means and the Seehotel there has a small town feel…read more Since my German is extremely weak (non-existent), I was glad to find the front desk was more than willing to take their time and explain things for me. The hotel also happens to be seconds away from the downtown train station, which was a nice bonus if you are looking to explore the area further by train. The room rate included a decent breakfast and free access to the sauna and steam room, however, it did not include wi-fi. The wi-fi was disappointingly slow, which was just insult to injury after having to pay for! The rooms themselves were modest and the temperature control was adequate, barely. A double was merely two twins put directly next to each other, however, I'm not sure if that is standard for Europe. They were surprisingly comfortable given their looked. Overall, its difficult for me to rate them any higher than a 4-star, but I felt they deserve more than 3 because of the customer service provided.

The staff are lovely, cooperative and helpful. The breakfast was good, also wifi service. We recommend this hotel for tourists visiting Constance Lake.

Diane at the desk gave us directions and put up with my questions on the area, she was very helpful and friendly. We are a party of 8 and have four rooms for two nights. The hotel gave us most of the top floor and we are very happy. Clean, large rooms with the gables looking outside, our room can just see the Lake out the window. Some have large tubs of porcelain, some are just showers. The Promenade parks are close, not sure of local tourist sights but we are not here for that portion for these two days. Many green novelty features that the family is discovering, motion sensor hall light, power cards for electricity etc. Beds are comfortable with the just comforter covers, sheets are not a given in Europe. AC is central and is very efficient, colder in the room than outside. Hotel has an elevator and on site restaurant and they stayed open for my wife and son last night. They take reservations and the dining hall was booked so it must be a local favorite. We would stay here again and are now on the way down to sample the breakfast which is part of the price.
