We have stayed in 5 star hotels throughout the world and believe Hotel Helios Almuñécar should be one of them. Everything is top notch here, from the service, the friendly attitudes, their patience and help with my poor Spanish, the cleanliness and the room quality. We chose a beautiful room with an ocean view and were offered an upgrade and the front desk. We agreed and it was an excellent decision because we now have a jacuzzi that we use to cool down and a second balcony , giving us options to get out of the sun and still enjoy the outdoors. The location is fantastic, close to the boardwalk and restaurants. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back next year! Spent a week here in June and the hotel accommodations and staff were fantastic. Location, parking , layout is great. Two bits that made the stay slightly less than perfect. The air conditioning is pretty weak. Never could reach the set temp. May was ok but summer could be a real issue. WiFi was great for the first 4 days but then went out and for some reason the hotel could not fix it. If you need to get some work done or need the internet then be forewarned and have a backup plan. I bought a Vodafone card for a month with lots of data and created a hotspot. The hotel should be able to get WiFi up within a few days . I'd stay here again but try to get a superior room upper floor with a nice view. read more
