I'm not really sure how to rate this hotel. My international travel is so infrequent and I don't…read morehave a real basis to compare against outside of US domestic places. They bill themselves as four stars. Is it four stars? Based on the amenities available on premises, probably yeah. Some aspects are first class (breakfast, service, spa, etc.) But in other respects it feels like a dated indoor shopping mall that is struggling to maintain renters. The room is horribly dated and in desperate need of a refresh. It was clean and neat...just dated! Twin beds? Not sure if this is common for Europe or not but my ample American ass is used to parking in one of two queen beds. The bathroom was nice enough with a phallic looking shower head. The window in the room opened fully (defintely NOT something you see in the US). The level B (shopping center) was sort of a ghost town and just kind of weird honestly. I expect to see something like this in Las Vegas but Fribourg?? Some of the "shops" I don't even know if they were opened or what the hours were. The French restaurant on premises was very quiet the three nights I stayed. It looks very nice...but French food is not really my thing. The special for the month was poisson (and I am allergic) so I didn't partake. There was also a Vietnamese restaurant (with various Michelin stickers talking about how important they were) on premises but I didn't have an opportunity to eat there. The hotel bar always seemed unstaffed and getting a beer was a challenge. One positive was the desk staff...very helpful answering my local questions and getting information. So in summary...I would say this is a suitable hotel for business travel. It is clean and has ample amenities. But...if I were travelling to visit I would probably look somewhere else closer to the old town.

Nice hotel but terrible customer service. I'll cut short on all the other stuff we had to go…read morethrough with the director himself (like asking us for a totally irrational way of parking our vehicle), but this man refused to give an extra towel for a double room where both towels had been used and wet, with no good explanation. Said it was a double room, so only two towels would be provided, because... that's how it is. Welp. Pretty sure this guy never stayed in an hotel elsewhere. Avoid.
