On a two week trip in Europe so decided to try something in the southern part of Netherlands to add…read morea little variety. As an added bonus we were near the three country border of The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium (Kudos to us!!). Issues arose immediately upon arrival when after a long train ride the check in was a bit rude and abrupt. Meh chalk it up to a long day for the staff. Ask for a spa service guide in English and get a frown and a no sorry we don't. I could easily accept this if the hotel hadn't provided a beer menu and in room information in English. The most expensive thing I am going to have is a visit to the spa..c'mon..please?
Found our way to the bar (as the lounge was closed..and never opened during our brief stay). Had a friendly bartender and a good selection of beers and a GREAT selection of scotches. The wait for a call from spa continued...
We walked the lovely grounds and found our way to the spa to ask questions in person. Oh no we are booked all day tomorrow and closed Sunday sorry...so no spa visit (I agree short notice and slots fill up fast but still wife was NOT happy).
Room was nice and large but the whole experience had left the two of us a tad grumpy. We decided to bail a day early and head back to Amsterdam. Figures breakfast was great and it was a sunny day for a train ride back north..
