They sent up workers to check the room but ultimately they continued to mock us and try to scare us as if it were some big joke. Simply appalled by this treatment and how the situation was handled. Als wir an die Rezeption gingen, wurden wir vom Personal verspottet und gedemütigt, weil wir über den Zustand unseres Zimmers verärgert waren. Sie schickten Arbeiter auf, um das Zimmer zu überprüfen, aber letztendlich belästigten sie uns weiter und versuchten uns zu erschrecken, als ob es ein großer Witz wäre. Einfach entsetzt über diese Behandlung und wie die Situation gehandhabt wurde. Unterstütze dieses Hotel nicht.

Much of the wine-list comes from the family's own label. You'll find the usual fare on the menu, of course--Wiener Schnitzel, Zwiebelrostbraten, and such, all excellent--but also some nicely thought-out variety: lamb and Stilton Maultasche, curried chicken breast with fruit, for example. My husband loved the Berlin-style liver. Our room had been renovated recently, and was comfy in a modest 3-star way. It included a safe: for leisure travellers from abroad, travelling with laptops and gadgets, this inclusion is deceptively useful. And the Glocke's garage, in this mediaeval town with narrow streets and no parking, is a godsend.

I have to say that I was extremely pleased with this hotel. Having to stay in four different hotels…read morein four nights, I was ver y prepared to have another lackluster experience, however, this spot was lovely! It comes out of the middle of farms and almost nowhere and is a lovely hotel - with very nice staff, lovely accommodations, huge rooms, good food, and everything in between. The scenery is so lovely - especially in the morning when the light was starting to come through the slight fog. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted at check-in. Don't forget to request your internet codes while you are there (one per device though it is free). I took the (small) elevator to my room and was overjoyed to find out that it was HUGE! It had a sitting area and desk and a pretty large bed, and even better, a huge bathroom with new finishes and a rain shower head. I met my colleagues in the bar area for dinner and while I never saw the drink menu, I will say that the house wine I think I ordered was quite good. We all had dinner together in the dining room which was tasty and comes with a salad bar option. Everything was delicious and fresh. The rooms were quiet and I slept well (and also was able to do a bit of work at the desk with a great internet connection). If I could have stayed a few more days, I'm sure I would have also gotten use of the small balcony off of my room. Rumor has it that this spot hosts events and meet ups for the locals on the weekends. It is a huge and lovely property, so I don't doubt that. Definitely worth staying at if you are in the area.
