Room- smaller than expected but not a big deal. 1 lamp didn't have a bulb in the bedroom. Floors creak all over. There's several weak spots in the floor that you sink in if you are caught off guard. Huge bathroom and shower. Plenty of towels. I had no bags in my trash cans. The TV situation- local channels. You can log into Netflix and YouTube. Those are your only 2 options. If you're staying for longer periods, you may wanna consider bringing a Roku or something similar. Their WiFi is free but they also have an internet package for $5 to get the better quality for streaming. Amenities- pool is small. Gym is fairly large and clean. Huge breakfast sitting area. There are booths and tables. There is one washing machine and one dryer on the 2nd floor. I posted pics of the prices. Fire pits are on the back porch area (we didn't use them but they're there) I do NOT like the fact that the breakfast girl has two tip jars sitting out. I think it's a bad look on the hotel. You're not serving us, taking our order or anything for a tip. As I made my plate each morning, she was hovering behind me to wipe behind me even though I didn't make a mess. It's too much. I've worked in hotels before and know the process for breakfast. I would never ask for tips. I was paid hourly for doing my job. Overall: was in town for work. Overall they were super friendly and helpful when needed. I'd stay again but I think it needs to be updated for sure.

It did seem strange that the breakfast was not included so we packed up and drove on to Charleston and had a very interesting breakfast there. Plenty of parking can accommodate buses. From US Route 60, it is tricky to get to even though it is on the highway. The hotel is a steep driveway from the road. The really big sign with the name is not illuminated and the road sign (tiny) is hard to see when approaching from the west (an eastern approach is only marginally better). Even if using the east Mall Road exit from I-64, it is not obvious where the entrance is. There is a bar and restaurant which are seat yourself affairs. The bar is warm and inviting. The limited menu, also available at the bar, includes an incredible sandwich: Salmon BLT with Bacon. Good grief this little gem is great. It is served on buttered and lightly grilled Focaccia bread. The salmon was firm and tasty with a light creamy sauce. Added flavor was provided by several substantial pieces of center cut bacon. There was also lettuce and tomato. It comes with a side. Skip the fries and go with the in-house made potato chips! Excellent! The bar maybe small but well stocked. There were two locally made micro brews on tap.

The room itself was very big and clean. They had a free breakfast that was pretty good. The only downsides I experienced were the walls were kind of thin and my neighbors were having sex for a few hours and I may as well had been in their room I basically heard everything, and good for them, really. Lol better than loud music to and I was honestly pretty tired so I could sleep through most of it. Also the bathroom didn't have toothpaste or hair products which would have been nice as I forgot to bring any. Pretty normal to have in nicer rooms these days.

Our bed was super uncomfortable- it kept our tired selves up throughout the night and our bodies ache. Not the best Hampton Inn experience. Rooms were decorated modern & cute, but our window was right outside a somewhat noisy Jeep dealership & repair. The fire alarm also went off as we were barely waking, and no one acknowledged it at all. That was odd & a little jolting. We weren't impressed with the breakfast options, although we did get there 30 min before it shut down, so that may on us. Overall, we would not stay here again, unless we were tired and desperate while in the area.

I'm going with 4 stars, and I'd I want to highlight I would stay here again. When I arrived, I noticed the valet delivered a car and then went back inside while I waited for assistance (there's no self-parking at the hotel unless you find something nearby on your own). After waiting for a bit, I went inside to track down the valet myself. Check-in wasn't the warmest either as I found it to be not very inviting, and there was no Hilton Honors recognition, which is usually a a benchmark for members. I was also questioned about two people checking in when it was just me who came up to the counter. It made me feel like they were keeping an eye on the food and beverage credit, but who knows it could have just been me, it wasn't in the friendliest of tons and just rubbed me the wrong way. The room was comfortable but definitely showed its age upon closer inspection. It had all the essentials you need like an iron, full-size ironing board, safe, mini fridge, and so on. The bed was super comfortable, and we slept well, which is what matters most to me. The breakfast buffet the next morning was just okay, but the staff really stood out. They were friendly and even went to the back to grab me a Diet Coke, which I appreciated. I'm a big fan of the Hilton brand, and because of my loyalty, I'd stay here again. It wasn't an amazing stay, but the location downtown, with its walkability to good food and shopping, added to the stay. The common areas are great too, so while there's room for improvement with some of the interactions and operations (based on my experience), I'd choose to stay here again.

While our room was superficially clean, it needed some maintenance: -dated decor -deep cleaning needed on shower/bathroom due to mold/water damage -water marks on furniture -very Stained carpets -Super dirty windows What was great: -Friendly staff - Ian was so friendly and helpful! Great recommendations! -Great location, easy to walk everywhere downtown -SUPER Comfortable bed (also, I check thoroughly for bed buds; the mattress had some human stains but no signs of any bugs anywhere in the room). -Free cookies, thought we gave ours away -very clean pool area, though they needed more furniture Again - overall, a solid stay!

This put me about an hour closer for my drive back to Jacksonville the following day as well as gave me the opportunity to spend time with college friends. Upon arrival my check-in process took about five minutes, which was great as I had my dog Simba in the car waiting for me. The associate was friendly and assisted me with where I should park. And she gave me a first-floor room so I didn't have to take my puppy boy on the elevator. I stayed in a room with two full beds and a couch. The room was clean and modern. The heat worked well which was much appreciated as it was chilly in WV! Plus the bed was comfortable. I stayed out too late the night before to catch breakfast lol. But that was fine as I wanted to stop by a local spot on my way out of town. The hotel was quiet as I slept the night through with no issues. My invoice was slid under the door when I woke up. I will definitely stay at this hotel again! Breakfast is not included but you can pay $8.95 for the buffet. Not worth it when there is a Bob Evans a block down the road. The room was large and the Jacuzzi bathtub looked at least as old as me...no thanks. The shower itself was huge...because of the bathtub size and was very hot and had a nice strong spray. All in all, it was about what I expected for a 3-Star. We were staying with family for this event otherwise we would have gone with a 2 1/2 Star. Which would have included a hot tub, pool, free breakfast, free wifi, coffee, fridge and microwave. And it would have been half the price.
