This is a very basic, no frills accomodation off the A7 A9 motorway in a small town called Orange. We used it to break our journey from Spain to Switzerland for a night. I booked online using booking.com and paid only €29 for a 3 bed room, it was the same price for a 2 bed. The double bed is large and there is a single bed further up. Mattresses are on the hard side. There is bed linen, but no towels unless you pay to use them. We brought our own. There is a big modern sink, TV, free WiFi, power point, air con, heating (we have come in Winter). Access is via a code which was given to us by reception. This code is also used to open the gates when you enter. There is a good sized car park. Pets are welcome as they always are in France! On our floor, there were at least 4 communal toilets, and 4 communal shower cabins. They were relatively clean, though the shower smelt a bit musty. It's a power shower that almost blew me away!! It switches itself off every 2 minutes or so, so you push the button and restarts at the temperature you set it...fantastic! There is a shower cream dispenser. I came armed with vinegar and cleaning cloth, but to my delight despite several people using the shower before me, it was nice and clean. Breakfast is available but I can't comment on that as we came prepared with a cooler bag of stuff. I generally find the breakfasts way overpriced and not very tasty, but that's just my personal opinion, as it suits many people to get back on the road without the hassle of looking for a local supermarket, which there are quite a few about 5 minutes drive in a car, as are petrol stations. In reception there are snack and drinks machines.
Now the downsides....it is quite noisy as it is close to the motorway, but I did have the window open a bit. If you're a light sleeper, you can also hear people opening doors to use the toilets etc. Now I would have given this place full marks for value but I took a star off for being forced to sleep on cigarette stinking pillows. Sadly all 3 pillows reeked of cigarettes despite linen looking clean, and despite no smoking signs everywhere...it's pretty disgusting actually having to breathe that in all night. Maybe we were just unlucky. In any case, I will be bringing our own pillows with in future read more
