Good hotel but they do loud annoying spin classes by the pool making it impossible to relax.

There are some noticeable differences between Conrad Algarve and other Conrads I've visited (Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Singapore, etc.), all of which have fantastic, over the top breakfast buffets, lovely exec lounges, wonderful spa facilities, and (daily) afternoon tea offerings. I believe the main difference boils down to resort hotel vs city hotel, bc resort hotels typically don't have an exec lounge, although some do for VIPs (if your room is located in the VIP corridor, tower, etc.) Overall, an excellent stay! Conrad Algarve opened in Sept 2012 and apparently was the first Conrad to open in Europe. After 12+ years, it appears most of the property is still very well maintained, and most (but def not all) staff were very friendly. BIG SHOUT OUT to Miguel & Jose for being super helpful in and around the lobby/front desk, and of course the lovely Claudia & Mafalda at Luoro breakfast every morning + Loro Lounge Tea Experience! Muito obrigado for the super relaxing stay! Until we meet again! =D

From the check-in process all the way to our checkout early morning on departure day, we were made to feel welcome and the hospitality was superb. The rooms are warm yet modern enough and you melt into the bed. Chats within the app were addressed within minutes, the thermal spa was a welcome amenity at the end of the day, and the overall ambiance of the entire property was just fantastic. We will really miss our stay and experience at the Conrad Algarve.

Close to the airport and clean but with little character or amenities…read more If it's just a simple overnight this is okay, that's what I was there for due to an early flight out the next day. However I arrived at the hotel just before sunset so I would have, in hindsight, been better off at an Airbnb close by on the beach. The pool was ice cold in November, I suppose that should be of no surprise. It was clean and felt secure though.

SCAM ALERT DO NOT…read moreBOOK as you will be out of pocket and with no rooms. We reached out to organise a group booking and were promised all was finalised once we've paid. Needless to say we then found out that NO ROOMS were booked and NO MONEY was returned to us so we are now out of thousands of euros. The hotel has refused to assist even though it is clear and we have proof that a member of the staff diverted emails sent to their email address listed online and took the sum. We even spoke to this member of staff on the phone via their directly line when booking and were assured. You would think that if something happened on your property to your honest clients you would want to find a solution but instead we were harassed, shouted at, abused and hung up on. The same happened when we escalated the matter to the hotel owners. Maybe they are all in on the scam. A police report is filed and next steps are being taken. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE if you want to actually receive a service for your hard earned dime.

We decided to go to Faro because we could fly there cheaply, we could stay there cheaply and we…read morecould expect it to be sunny. What we didn't expect was for the little cheap hotel we chose to be so very good. The hotel is in a little town called Montenegro, just outside of Faro. What this meant was that we needed to take a shuttle bus (provided for free by the hotel) if we wanted to go to Faro centre, the beach or the airport. When the shuttle bus times didn't suit us we caught one of the local proximo buses (when we visited that seemed to cost €2.20 for a single adult ticket anywhere). Being outside the main town wasn't a problem and if anything was quite nice. Montenegro is quieter and less touristy (although Faro is distinctly un-touristy itself) and the hotel was quiet. Breakfast is included and if you need to leave very early one morning they will prepare you a breakfast package to take with you. The main breakfast is a buffet with rolls, croissants, scrambled eggs, sausages, cheese, ham, sliced bread for toast, cereals, fruits, jams, juices, tea and coffee. We enjoyed sitting by the pool (not enormous, but certainly big enough and we often had it to ourselves) sunbathing, reading and drinking sangria from the very reasonable bar. The bar also serves a good range of other drinks until 1am and bar snacks until 11pm. The room was small-ish, but large enough and the bathroom was lovely. Everything was very clean, though perhaps the room could have used a new carpet or a lick of paint. For our needs, more or less just a comfortable place to sleep and leave our belongings when we weren't at the beach, it was perfect. Our only complaint was the lack of working safe in the room, but the staff were happy to keep valuables for us behind the front desk. I would definitely visit this hotel again if I decided to re-visit Faro.

This place could not possibly do more things wrong. Located ten minutes' walk from the Marina, in a…read morevery run down area (graffiti on neighborhood walls, doors, boarded up windows). The lobby reeks of years of cigarette smoke. There was a letter posted at the desk informing guests that construction was going on 8 am - 5 pm daily. This was not disclosed when we booked months ago. We arrived early for our 2 pm check-in, so we left our bags in a closet with the reception person and walked to find someplace else to stay! We returned at 2 pm exactly and were told ours was "the only room not ready." So we sat in the smelly lobby, overlooked by a sad, unattended corner where they sell chips and sodas. (No offer of water, a cookie, apology.) spent 30 min watching ridiculous music videos on the lobby TV with no updates from front desk. (Surprisingly, there is WiFi! From the surroundings, it looked like there might not even be running water.). We had to ask again and were told room was ready. Elevator is quite old, small and slow. Room 203 was clean -- the sting of the bleach immediately made our eyes water and throats itch. And this was with the window wide open. They had renovated this bathroom (with lots and lots of bleach. So disinfected!) so it sported brand new everything including soaking tub and bidet. One container of soap/shampoo my partner described as "industrial strength." Though the staircase looks out over the pretty church next door, our room surveyed and alley with some decaying homes. Big plus was the forceful A/C. I immediately needed a nap and flopped onto the crisp white sheets -- whitened with bleach. Bleach so strong it made my head spin and, after an hours rest -- left my skin feeling like I'd suffered chemical burns. That is not an exaggeration. Decor is nonexistent. They offer an electric kettle and instant coffee packets. There is a TV but I fear only seeing more of the dreadful music videos. Neighborhood itself seems quiet, but construction (hammering, buzz saw, workers talking) was ongoing and literally was in the wall where the headboard is. Great nap! we will have to spend the night here (I'm writing the review now in case the fumes overcome me in my sleep). We were able to book a beautiful new hotel by the marina with a pool and spa for the next two nights of our visit. I will be asking Best Western for a refund. The cookie store around the corner, Bakie, has amazing cookie selection, including an outstanding, chock full of chocolate and Nutella one, and a cookroissant dripping with slabs of chocolate. freshly baked. sweet and helpful folks.
