The rooms were well beyond what I would expect for such a reasonable price. I felt more like I was in a small condo than a hotel room. Our room had two spacious full bathrooms, a separate bedroom, two TVs, two balconies, a four-chair dining area, and a lovely kitchen with a full-size dishwasher. The view was without equal. You could see from the hills of Monchique to the beaches of Portimao and Alvor. Breathtaking!

I'm writing this review solely based on the amazing customer service I experienced. When I called to cancel my stay the person who answered was extremely helpful and did the best she could to help me catch a different train and sort through the transportation issues I was having. Unfortunately I was still unable to make it to Lagos with the ability to make the most out of my short stay and ended up canceling. They were kind enough to waive any charges, despite me canceling very last minute. I truly hope I am able to travel to Lagos one day so I can fully experience this hotel.

Amenities include a safe, small TV, and that's it. There is also a mini fridge. Price includes breakfast from 7-10:30. Its a lavish spread of breads, egg, bacon, fruit, cereal, and much more. There is a large rooftop pool where you can relax or do laps. Towels are available in the lobby for a 15€ deposit. There is also a small bar on the roof that you can enjoy in the afternoons. The price staying here was comparable was to airbnbs in the area. This was so much more worth it. Complimentary drinks at the bar, valet and access to the spa and pools were also included. It was a bit away from town in a residential area, but if you have car it's not a problem whatsoever. If you compare to South American resorts, there's no beach, but there are cliff/ocean views nearby. I was definitely consider coming back here if I'm in Algarve.

Regarding the food, it's pretty hard to mess up pork tenderloin. By the nature of its cut, it's tender and flavorful. Not this , it was bone dry and served in these weird small chunks. The filet was not a small filet you would be served in other nice restaurants but instead two slices of steak. Take the short walk out of the hotel and have a meal somewhere else. Shame on the hotel for riding solely on the view and thinking this is all they have to give people.

The restaurants are very good, including The One, where we feasted on freshly grilled, turbot, had delicious sushi on the rooftop, and Espresso martinis well at the Azul Blue bar. The hotel is located right on the ocean, with the seven Valley trail passing by that can take you to Benigel Caves. We opted to be picked up from the hotel with a stand up paddle boarding adventure into four different caves, including Benigel. We also enjoyed walking into town, a nice massage at their lovely spa and lounging by the pool. Oh, and one more thing - make sure to add the breakfast, the breakfast buffet is amazing, with an omelette bar, waffle bar, fresh, squeezed, orange juice a great spread of meats, cheeses, and pastries. You won't be disappointed!
