Abysmal hotel with dodgy staff. I saw one woman snorting drugs in behind reception. The hotel itself is so basic. Cutlery is not even provided. I paid for the pet friendly suite at a cost of 300 dollars per night. After I left, my Dad's credit card was charged illegally an extra 350 dollars. What a disappointment 3 out of 4 meals were uneatable 2 fish was more batter than fish and overcooked. What was the salad all about .

Great location next to the scenic river. Outdoor patio is huge and lots of seating so easy to find a seat. However, the food was just not as tasty as I expected and heard from others. Got the eye fillet steak sandwich and the Thai salad, it wasn't very tasty. read more

I'm surprised that I am the first to review the Hotel Brunswick. It seems to be the heart of Brunswick Heads. Hotel Brunswick runs like a well-oiled machine. Take a menu. Go up to the counter and order. Take one of those vibrating-flashing things that buzz you when your order is ready. Order drinks separately. Resume seat and admire the beautiful building that houses this operation as you wait for your order. Food is served large and is good enough quality. Very reasonably priced. Service is efficient. Drinks. Well, it's a pub, so predictable. Funny story, actually. I was perusing the beers, unsure what to order, and the waitress advised "Coopers Pale Ale is popular". I told her I was from SA and that we bathe in Pale back home. She looked at me with a confused and shocked expression on her face. Yep. She believed me. Bless her... Ambiance. Kind of like a German bier hall. Live band at the front. Lots going on. A really exciting place. read more

I've been here in summer and winter, also been here sans children and post family life. Sans children, it works. The food is average at best and not worth the over inflated prices. I've tackled the usual fish & chips to the standard Parma and nothing has ever stood out for the price you pay, $19+ for practically everything. Beer choice is good and reasonably priced but if you're a designated driver you're going to wish you weren't as they fountain drinks are as much as the beer and not even one free refill. The bands are good and outside space is too but is definitely a summer place as winter is a graveyard with no soul, pardon the pun and very much the feel of an RSL. It's a pub, nothing more and nothing set out for kids as there's a play area across the road and why would you bother to make the effort when the council can do that for you? The previously mentioned outside space is the only insight entertainment for the kids which is just waste of space come winter time. The kids menu is thoroughly unremarkable and the standard kid food of pizza isn't even available until after 15:00 and what they do offer is $9+ a go and doesn't even include a kids drink. Overall, best without kids and in the summer time. The food should be given a miss at the cost and don't expect service with a smile at any point all year round. I like the place, I do but as a family man these days it really does not tick any boxes. read more

You might think the food would be good judging from the outside of this spacious Restraunt. You'd be very wrong though. I ordered a salad with added chicken. This salad was spectacularly disgusting. Everything was old and shrivelled up, I actually had to send my meal back (This is not something I usually do). What they gave me back was the same as before (?). It's such a shame too because it was such a nice looking place. Landscaping around the spacious beer garden/eating area created a beautiful ambience, the inside dining areas were just as nice also. It's inexcusable to serve bad food and off ingredients. I would not recommend this place. read more

This is the place to be on a sunny afternoon. Chill out and enjoy the view across to the river from a shady perch in the enormous beer garden. Live music runs throughout the weekend. The "Bruns" is a beautiful art deco hotel commanding a great spot in the super cool fishing village of Brunswick Heads. The atmosphere is relaxed, casual and friendly. Children run through the beer garden playing in the old boat and gardens, and there's a great kids park just across the road. The food is generous and of a high standard. There are lots of dining options nearby if you don't fancy a pub meal. read more
