Our stay here was very unpleasant, and out of all the hotels we stayed in Spain for the last week, this was by far the worst in terms of service (zero hospitality) and amenity (not terrible but everything is just old and outdated). The staff at restaurant was rude (they brought us empty sauce bottles and practically threw things down acting irritated) and the front desk uncaring and irresponsible. Our room was frigid cold and seemed to have broken thermostat, the heater blowing cold air out. I called twice, they did nothing. When I went down, the three women simply shrugged and complained among themselves and finally gave me a key to another room that did not even open. I called again and no one came. All this after I explained that I have a child sleeping with me. Basically, the corridor was much warmer than the room and it was way too cold for a shower; I had to leave the door open while waiting for more than an hour for something to be done.
After waiting close to 2 hours, the maintenance man finally came and "fixed" (which took 2 minutes total to go up a ladder to flip a switch in the unit mounted high on the wall; basically with the night temperature now below 50 degrees Fahrenheit, the hotel did not turn on heating yet. With broken thermostat and no individual control, in some rooms, if you turn on heater it will run air conditioning all night) and he was the only one we encountered who was nice in demeanor. Every staff here had this consistent look of being really bothered to be even talking to you and doing the very basic stuff like the waiter bringing water or even answering calls.
Avoid this hotel if you have any other choice. Old HVAC system is not the culprit here but the complete lack of care for the hotel guests. Left the hotel with sore throats and headache.
My second trip to Spain and know that folks here are generally nicer than this. I suspect the hotel management is somehow behind their zombie-like attitudes. read more
