The mountains around the town make it very lovely and we enjoyed our stay. The female owner makes this hotel special .. she's so friendly and charming .. and does everything with flare. Dinner entrees were served under silver domes and the unveiling was coordinated for effect. Over all the food on this tour was very disappointing but this was by far one of the better meals included. This Hotel dates back to 1826 as the oldest in town. The decor and woodworking is gorgeous though you do have to watch out for splinters .. so don't shuffle your feet. The doors have real keys with the heaviest key-fabs you've ever seen and some of the door ways are so dark you would find a flashlight helpful. I thought the town, hotel and our room were very cute. Loved having a balcony to go out on with a view. The beds were super firm .. all the beds in Europe have been FIRM which wasn't my comfort preference but must be a Europe thing. the free internet was slow and spotty but enough to check in with family. We had a do not disturb sign on the door but the staff entered anyway .. to clean the room .. close the shudders etc. Didn't like they came in though we put the do not disturb sign .. but noting was stolen or seemed out of place. There is no AC or Fans .. so we were a bit too warm ... thankfully it was spring not summer. As with many in Europe they did not provide hair conditioner which is standard in areas. Even though there were a few things wrong .. the owner was so funny and charming .. we loved her and our stay. When we were leaving she got in the road and stopped traffic for all our group to cross. The cafe over looks the main thoroughfare corso italia. You can sit and sip a beverage in the outside portion and people watch. The food is excellent is all three of the eateries.

Breakfast in the morning was light, but filling. Offered selections of bread, ham, Turkey, swiss cheese, scrambled eggs, and pretty much any jelly you could imagine. Had some confusion related to our booking through hotel.com that almost resulted in a duplicate charge. Then, when wanting to sit by a window during breakfast, the waitress made a little fuss about us sitting there. Apparently, despite the silverware placement, we weren't supposed to sit there. 5 stars because it all ended well, and we had a wonderful time overall.

The hotel is located just outside the central part of Cortina, however a five minute walk put you at Corso Italia (the pedestrian shopping/dining area). Additionally, one of the ski bus routes stopped right outside the hotel (if you were planning to ski 5 Torri or Passo Falzarego). A short walk over the river brought you to the bus stop for visiting the Faloria and Tofana areas. Check-in was pretty seamless, as room keys were distributed without a problem in short order. Some of the staff helped with bringing luggage up the stairs as the elevator only had room for 4 people (without luggage), 2 people with luggage. From the very beginning, they went out of their way to make us comfortable. On the night of our arrival, Stefano the owner of the hotel briefed our group on the ski areas in close proximity. Additionally, he mentioned a few of the on-mountain restaurants which were not to be missed. His recommendations were excellent! My friend and I ended up sharing two rooms with a shared bathroom, so it meant that we had more space than normal. Each bedroom had a generous sized armoir to hang clothes and a shelf for folded items. The beds were firm, which was a welcomed relief after a long day of hitting the slopes. The housekeeping staff did a great job of keeping our rooms tidy. The main floor of the hotel had plenty of space for a larger group to hang out in the evenings. There is a small bar, well-stocked of course, for a pre-dinner drink. The dining room was spacious and had plenty of space for our group. Additionally, even with a large group it felt like things never got too loud, which I appreciate. Breakfast was a buffet, with assorted bread, pastries, and fruit. Additionally, some proteins were well-represented (eggs, meats, and cheeses). The croissants were fantastic. On the morning of our departure, the staff was kind enough to start breakfast 30 minutes earlier. Dinners were sit down, not buffets. Each evening, you selected your courses for the following evening. Each dinner consisted of a starter, first course, second course, an dessert. Portion sizes were perfect and the menu was varied. If there were any dietary restrictions, they were happy to accomodate. Each evening, when your arrived for dinner, candles were lit at each table. Additionally, bottles of red/white wine, sparkling and still water were sitting out ready to be drank. A wonderful hotel with lots of character.

We stayed for two nights and were able to get rest and recharge for the long hikes during the day. the location is super convenient to walk to the cable car, the bus station and the main plaza and restaurants in the town. The rooms were cleaned and sanitized and all the linen, including the bath robes were soft and inviting. The staff was really attentive and polite and made sure we had a pleasant stay. We did have a bit of an issue while trying to pay as the credit card system was down and our taxi to the next spot was waiting, so we had to rush to get cash to be able to pay. Try to settle your tab early if you can !

The location of this hotel is great since it's walking distance to downtown Cortina (lots of shops, bars, restaurants). You have to drive to the slopes, but that's how it works here no matter where you stay. Breakfast was included with my room and was ok. Eggs, pastries, coffee, and fresh fruit were served daily. Not a particularly impressive spread but got the job done. The spa (aka Wellness Center) is large with multiple saunas and steam rooms (coed). They also have a pool and hot tub, which always had kiddies playing - don't expect an oasis. I opted for a massage one afternoon, and it was below average. Also the spa receptionists don't speak English, unusual for a fancy hotel.

let me start by saying this review is based on value, not how super duper fancy the hotel was. ok…read moreso the hotel is old.. and yes, there are certain things you get from an old structure. you get uniqueness and coziness. but you also get old plumbing. so yes the bathtub doesn't have a curtain (nor any sort of barrier that keeps the water in the tub), but the water pressure will blow your doors off and the staff is genuinely top notch and super sweet and they will be happy the mop up the big puddle of water outside the tub each morning. seriously i loved the staff. they were super helpful with all my questions on navigating the dolomites and where the parking lot was (this was a bit sarcastic as the parking lot was quite difficult to find even after parking there for 3 days). but look, this is the least expensive hotel in town (at least it was when i booked) and i had a very comfortable experience there. great location, great staff, great price. definitely recommend if you're looking for a (close to) 4-star hotel at 3-star price.

This hotel let their staff have access to our…read moreroom in the evening the day we checked in for reasons I do not know which allowed them access to take my jewelry as I was not expecting anyone to come in. We were not provided with a do not enter option to prevent them coming in either but I did not think they would need to so didn't look into it. The hotel staff was also not helpful once alerted. The manager told me the cleaning staff had access to our room and entered our room that evening as they will do that on top of their normal morning hours which again I do not know why and instead blamed me saying I lost it. I called the cops who I know can't do anything but they said they would investigate. Everyone should be aware if you are staying here that they will come in multiple times in the day and will take your stuff!!!!!

There's an indoor pool and hot tub, but I mostly enjoyed the outdoor pool with massage jets. They also have a large round pool with jets that pull you around like a strong, small lazy river, which was fun, and the kids love it. There's a water slide and baby pool, too,Not super fancy, more like a nice YMCA, but nice views. The best part was the massage by Irene upstairs. So amazing and skilled. One of the best I've had!
