I am not disappointed. It is true there is no air conditioning and there is a heat wave going on but the room is comfortable. More so than the hotel I stayed at in Santorini which did have air conditioning! There is the giant fan. The desk clerk was very accommodating and I can now turn distress into a fun adventure. The room is clean and large. The shower faucet leaks but it did not affect my shower. The bed is comfortable. Now I just want a schnitzel :)

Within 5 minutes, I was in the hotel after I got off the train. The hotel is nice and the staff is attentive. As some have reported, the hotel doesn't have air-conditioning. I will stay here again when on layover in Vienna.

The hotel is close to trains and walking distance to great bars and restaurants. Perfect location for exploring Vienna. We got upgraded to the top floors with access to the roof, and the room has a hot tub. The hotel's rooftop terrace however, only for the guests on the top floor called Sweet floor. The hotel was very quiet and the room is very modern and I liked how they made good use of their space. The bed was comfortable. All amenities were good and useful. Wifi worked fast. Their free breakfast is from 7am to 10am and was great. They had varieties of deli meats, coffee, boiled eggs, yogurts, fruits etc. The gentleman who checked us in was friendly and welcoming.

I spend several hundreds more to stay in a different city, when I travel in that part of the world, where they have hotels right across the street from the airport. In Vienna their are no airports right across the street like several other countries have.

I have been traveling to Austria for business for the past seven years and Haus Monika is generally the most recommended place for my colleagues and myself. Great restaurants with the original schnitzel across the street at Mariahilferbrau, bakery next door, hamburgers, and few Chinese restaurants. We rented three rooms to sleep two. Two of the rooms were spacious. Equipped with a kitchenette with microwave, fridge, sink, stove, pots, pan, dishes, water kettle. A living area separated by two twin beds to sleep two. Huge closet with a digital safe. Tv in the living space and in the bedroom. The restroom is decent size with 2 small travel size shampoo bottle. Their towels were super soft. Plenty of electrical outlets. The other room was a standard hotel room with no wall separation. It was more of like a hotel studio. It had a walk in closet, microwave and water kettle. No sink or stove. It cost to reserve parking per day in a gated lot that fits about 10 cars with a few spaces for electrical vehicles. I highly recommend this to keep your car safe. It's optional $10 per person per day for breakfast. I, personally did not like their selection compared to the other hotels. There were lots of bread, few pastries, meats, cheese, no scrambled eggs, just hard boiled eggs and no sausages. I ate the first day but the rest of our stay, I went to the bakery next door which turned out cheaper. Just be careful that you don't bring outside food to eat in their dining area. They will charge you $10 a day.

With plush sofas and huge glass windows it is a great place for a couple of drinks and to watch the world go bye. Not a traditional setting for sundowners but not bad. The decor inside is great, reminds me of a hotel in Barcelona that received a five star rating from me. Large bauble chandeliers and low lighting here as well as funky wall projections. At one point Sissi dancing across the wall. Warm and inviting and comfortable there is plenty of seating available but the nicest has got to be the large sofas that you just melt into. There is a good variety of drinks on the menu and very reasonably priced. And now to the service, the reason for 3 stars. Slow, slow, slow. We waited ages to order and then waited ages for the drinks. My personal low point was when I was brought a Weissbier without any head on it. (Sad face!) This is just unacceptable in my opinion! The waitress was friendly though and they seemed to be a bit short staffed. This was brought t my attention again when we left as there was a line of around 10 people at reception and only one receptionist. A little short there too. But despite the service I would go back at this is a really relaxing comfortable place to have a few drinks. Oh and the advertised Free WiFi didn't work.
