Personally I'm not a fan due to the following: - I like my meat to fall off the bone, - I don't like strings of fat or chew in my bites. If you are the opposite of me, then you'll love these ribs! We had 4 portions of the 3-rack sampler giving us the flexibility to try all flavours. Stay away from the cheese ribs unless you like wet and stinky meat. Otherwise for the tough rib, these rank high with the likes of strand café and zur alte kaiser mühler. I also tried the crepe with nuts inside. OK if you want watery tasting nuts in a wet crepe.

The service at the restaurant is very good and would totally agree with Stefan H. previous review that it is a rare sight indeed in Vienna that the service / people would apologize for not getting it right 1st time..... However the service is good even when full to capacity the waiter / waitresses are from my observations alert to the needs of the paying customer. Ok the Bierstöckl is a little outside of the main city (Gurtel) but if you're paying a visit to the Schönbrunn then it is no harm and taking a little walk further on from the / Die Gloriette on a tree lined street to the restaurant. The location also has ample parking and is easily reached via the obligatory!! :-) SATNAV The outside area is tree covered and directly behind the outside area is a small play-park / Kinderspeilen area for the kids to have some fun while waiting for their food. All in all I give it 4 stars due to the reason that My family & I are quire regular visitors to the Bierstöckl and the food on nearly every occasion has been very satisfying, the staff make you feel most welcome and the location is for the most part child friendly.
