At 1930, we called up to ask where the food was...we were told someone had already tried to deliver once and no one was in. We told them we had been in the house since 18:55. The guy said "ok, give me 5 minutes". 30 minutes passed and STILL no food!! So, we called AGAIN! Again, we were told "5 minutes" Finally, the food turned up over 60 minutes late. The delivery woman came up our drive way ranting and raving that this is the 2nd time she had called here! No apology, just abuse and rudeness. We told her we had been here since 5 to 7 sat in the window waiting. She then shouts that she was here at 1845, i am sorry, but when we asked for food AFTER 7pm, it is not our fault that she came early!! she then started arguing saying she was the one who took the order and we never said for it to be delivered after 7pm!! She was calling us liars! Why would we be asked for food to be here when we ourselves would not be?! Normally, we would have taken the food and accepted an apology for this misunderstanding...however, with her bad attitude and NO customer service...we sent it back. Called and spoke to the manager who had "sorry" to say. Sorry, but that is not good enough. We are now off to bed hungry and extremely annoyed at what WAS our favourite take away. Have used Golden Tree for about 10/years - quality always consistent, friendly staff and little…read morethings - like the fresh (not frozen) chips always cooked in clean oil - show this place cares. I'd love them to do delivery but as it stands I'll gladly park on the supermarket car park at the back and collect as it's worth it not to be disappointed with delivery from other places in town. Prices are about town average, or maybe 10p per dish more, but when it's good, who cares about 10p?! :)
