My favorite (of the many great) Prague dining experience. We came here straight from the airport…read morefrom Amsterdam. We happened to find this gem of a restaurant because we were getting to know the neighborhood where our Airbnb was. The thing that lead us in is their in-house brewery! They have quality lagers and other varieties. I would say that their lager is hoppy and has that distinct Czech personality. Full-bodied flavor and unfiltered. I was surprised that they also have IPA! I gave that a try and of course the Vinohradská 11. We had a five course meal and none of the dishes disappoint. We had sausages, duck confit and the creamy deer. I would say that I have never tasted a dessert dumpling and that was a good end to the meal; it was sweet dumplings stuffed with strawberry compote, topped with cheese curd and hot butter and a dollop of cool whipped cream. Definitely worth trying and going back to!

Really good beer and reasonable prices as befitting Prague in general. Both the dark ale and…read morepilsner tasted great. There is not much vegetarian food on their classic Czech menu, but what they have is heavy. Not necessarily large in portions but large in calories. Their pickled cheese appetizer was something I've never tasted before nor is it something I would go out of the way to order again. Meanwhile their spinach and dumplings dish was also heavy and when that's done you don't have much left for more beer. The atmosphere is a 2 level beer hall where you are expected to share tables if there are empty seats available. Good way to meet friends.

Czech brewery! This is such a cool little brewery! I'd…read morealready had a few Pilsner Urquells by the time I'd gotten here, so it's not easy to find. Look for the Art Deco style entrance, which takes you down a long hallway past other unrelated shops, to the entrance of the brewery / brewpub. When I came, they weren't exactly offering tours, but they had paper place mats out that walk you through the brewing process, and how long this building has been doing which function of the brewing process. The waiter took me past a plaster accordion player statue to a booth by the fermentation tanks. I was in heaven! I got a sampler of beer, which includes their own pilsner, a few other beers, and my fav- the beer champagne! The beer champagne wasn't the champagne of beers, Miller High Life, but a beer champagne! It seems that they used champagne yeast to make a higher proof effervescently bubbly brew that I'd drink all the time if I could get it! I also got a shot of the distilled beer. I've tried this kinda stuff before, which isn't that great. Think a weird hoppy vodka. Theirs wasn't much better than most homemade moonshine. I've seen places make this 'shine from beer that gets messed up, but they don't want to pour down the drain. Meh- it works. The place was decorated in a strange brewery fashion. They have a breathalyzer mounted on the wall by the restroom! Wooot! I got a 1.354%! WOOOT!

Difficult to find, but just keep going down that one hallway/indoor alley. It's at the end…read more Feels like a basement. Probably because I think it is a basement. Lots of kitsch stuff all over the place and on the ceiling, making it feel busy and rustic simultaneously. Our server was nice and didn't mind that we hung out a bit after closing. All we got were light and dark beers, but their menu is GIGANTIC, but we didn't order any food.

Then ordered the (6) Prague ham, horseradish, sour cream, apple, bacon crumbs. This was tasty snack to complement the drinks. I decided to try the Liqueur & Spirits Tasting next since we loved the beer flight. Holy crap what a mistake. It was absolutely disgusting, terrible, I think my stomach lining has melted away & I only tried a tiny sip of each (hoping one would be good) I love a good apricot brandy & this one could remove paint, no joke! We ordered the (17) Pork brewery Schnitzel "King of Prague" XXL, traditional potatoes salad, smoked pork crackling, lemon & shared it. This was yummy. Absolutely loved the potato salad. We had two servers first was a male & his attitude sucked. He was rude, constantly avoided our table each time he walked by. The second server was female & she was polite with a smile that at least made you feel welcomed to the restaurant. We sat outside in front of the restaurant watching people & enjoying our snacks & beers. But trust me on the Liqueur/Spirits it burns more than you realize. Yes, I mentioned this to the manager & he laughed and said he won't drink them either. Lesson learned.
