For us the truth is there is no reason to spend the night in Trujillo. This is pretty much a day…read moretrip town. However, if you decide to overnight we would recommend La Cadena.
We found the hostal to be very clean and surprisingly quiet for its location on Plaza Mayor. Be advised there is no lift so you may want to leave your heavy bags at home.
Our room was small, comfy and serviceable with a great little bathroom. Also be advised it may be necessary to supply your own soap...we did. Our balcony opened directly over the square where we could sit and watch the town come alive in the morning.
Parking is problematic as with everything near the square. We parked on Plaza del Campillo and walked up. Easier than it looks.
No English is spoken at La Cadena so rudimentary Spanish goes a long ways. We think you will find La Cadena very reasonable for price, clean and convenient...pretty much everything we look for in an overnight stay.
