The room I was in had two big palm trees blocking part of the sunset, still it was beautiful. The breakfast buffet is out of this world. Two rooms of food and beverage. Everything you could ever want for breakfast. Including a champagne cocktail. There is a small indoor pool, but nice jacuzzi area overlooking the Mediterranean. You have to get towels at the front desk for both the pool and the beach, which seems a bit odd, but not too bad if you remember ahead of time. The beach just below the hotel is too small, but down the path 200m is a larger beach that is sufficient with great views. I would highly recommend eating at Gastromar. They share the same kitchen as Michelin-rated El Brancs. The Turbot, cocktails, and dessert were excellent here.

There was no real need to leave this hotel. You can find all the relaxing you need here and it had hands down the most beautiful little cove beach and views that we saw along the coast! Felt like a 60s movie star swansong, with its cascading balconies, views, slow dining in the restaurants, and fun throwback cocktails in whimsical glassware. The breakfast was wonderful, and for lunch and dinners we ate at all three restaurants. The fare at all 3 is similar, but gets elevated in old fashioned elegance as you rose up each level. They all served seafood and we had an amazing white wine from the local vinyard! We did expect to see more "lunchy" items like fries, calamari, panini/pizzette at the beach level pirate dock bar -like more of a beach shack - but they are literally prepping out of a cool cave in the wall so no fryer is a minor thing, and it was a cheerful seaside vantage for a long lunch or drinks. Do reserve dinner upstairs as the restaurants can fill up. Last, shout-out to the welcoming help of the team at the front when you arrive! This place is a unique and romantic dream!

We had a standard room which was incredibly spacious. Aircon is modern allowing various settings such as fan, heat, aircon or dehumidfier. There's a proper coffee machine like a Nespresso/Pod machine in your room the first two Pods are free thereafter 1 euro each a great facility and alternative to the instant coffee, kettle etc you usually find at hotels. Good breakfast buffet served till 11am at the weekends which you can take outside by the pool surrounded by the wonderful mature garden settings. We also ate twice in the evening at the hotel (which I rarely ever do) the set menu of three courses offering a tantalising choice and exceptional value at 20 Euros. Great pool length which is restricted for use from 11am which makes sense as if I had a balcony view I'd hate to be woken early though I am a early morning length swimmer. There's also a Table-Tennis table and Table Football. Staff are simply brilliant and most tri-lingually excellent what I heard what Spanish, Catalan, English and French. Finally it's a great location for the nearby beaches and town of Callel de Palafrugell which is five minutes away. In short, for a six night stay I find it hard to fault this place.

I think this hotel (and Europe in general) has so much charm for this very reason! We were only here for a single night, but the room was fantastic. New fixtures, comfy beds, and a great rain shower. The room also had automatic curtains, which aren't exactly a breakthrough feature but I'll admit I always feel like a king when I can command them from the comfort of my bed! In addition, the hotel is in a great location for exploring the town. They also had an amazing breakfast spread in the morning. Sadly, we were in a rush to get to the Barcelona airport, so I was only able to grab a couple doughnuts for my group and run out the door. I highly recommend checking this place out if you ever find yourself in Girona, it's a great find.

It has free wifi and an amazing breakfast that is included with the cost of the room. It also has its own parking garage for a minimal 10 euro fee (which is convenient since parking in this town is next to impossible). The rooms are clean and fresh, with friendly staff and an overall nice feel. Even the pool is big, with a separate hot tub, a poolside restaurant, a grass area and a peaceful ambiance. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip!

It was a bit of a spurge for us, but we found it well worth it in terms of comfortable and scenic accommodations, impeccable service, a stellar patio breakfast, and an impressive campus including bar, swimming pool, dinner service, and nearby hiking opportunities. Having said that, we found that our October 2017 stay was quieter and less busy, with the kiddos back in school. As such, our room then was more of a suite and with much more sweeping sea views (including the Parador across the water where we stayed in 2011). We enjoyed our 2022 room and associated deck, although the loud sex from the couple below added some previously unknown vocabulary. It was also a bit more crowded, with more kids, and a wedding that limited parking options within their poorly designed "bumper-eating" spaces. An extra positive was that after we informed hotel staff that we had to leave early the last morning to catch a mid-day flight from Barcelona to Menorca, a most appreciated continental breakfast was delivered to our room, the evening before. I'd recommend the Agua Blava or the nearby Parador to anyone who wants to enjoy the stunning scenery and beaches that the Costa Brava has to offer. Gayle and I will most probably concentrate on the Southern Spain when we return the next time. But we'll never say never when it comes to the Hotel Agua Blava.

Ubaldo has for me, the most important attributes: it's very clean, it's air-conditioned, breakfast is included and the beds are comfortable. Beyond that, it's very basic but meets all your needs.... ...except there is no elevator, so if you're on the second floor, like we were, you've got 41 steps to deal with several times a day, including carrying luggage. The parking garage is really difficult unless you're parking a Smart car, or a motorbike. In the late afternoon, the restaurant next to the Hotel sets up five tables in the middle of the street. It is delightful to sit there and enjoy a meal or glass of wine. In all, it's a good little place offering good value for the money.

Also the hotel is all tile floors; the halls, the steps, the rooms, EVERYTHING is tile floor. So when people come back to their rooms at night, especially drunk girls in click-clacking heels, everyone can hear them. EVERYONE!! However, it's got soundproofed windows which really prevent street noise from coming in. The front desk person was friendly and helpful. The hotel is listed as a one-star hotel, but I would actually say it's at least a two-star.
