Hotel Aigua Blava is a four-star hotel with amazing sea and beach views. Gayle I stayed here in October 2017 and recently in June 2022. It was a bit of a spurge for us, but we found it well worth it in terms of comfortable and scenic accommodations, impeccable service, a stellar patio breakfast, and an impressive campus including bar, swimming pool, dinner service, and nearby hiking opportunities.
Having said that, we found that our October 2017 stay was quieter and less busy, with the kiddos back in school. As such, our room then was more of a suite and with much more sweeping sea views (including the Parador across the water where we stayed in 2011).
We enjoyed our 2022 room and associated deck, although the loud sex from the couple below added some previously unknown vocabulary. It was also a bit more crowded, with more kids, and a wedding that limited parking options within their poorly designed "bumper-eating" spaces. An extra positive was that after we informed hotel staff that we had to leave early the last morning to catch a mid-day flight from Barcelona to Menorca, a most appreciated continental breakfast was delivered to our room, the evening before.
I'd recommend the Agua Blava or the nearby Parador to anyone who wants to enjoy the stunning scenery and beaches that the Costa Brava has to offer. Gayle and I will most probably concentrate on the Southern Spain when we return the next time. But we'll never say never when it comes to the Hotel Agua Blava. read more
