When my father needed to get higher level of care than just our hotel doctor during our recent trip to Cancun, the team at Hospiten went above and beyond. They coordinated with our hotel's doctor and prepared for our arrival. The triage doctor was extremely professional and efficient. She was clear with the plan from the beginning. The nurses and hospital staff were all so kind. The other doctors who worked in the "urgencias" area of the hospital were incredible. I will say, they did not initiate treatment until we paid a large sum of $$ in USD. I am a nurse in the US and knew that my father needed to have an endoscopy regardless of how much is cost due to hallmark symptoms of an upper GI obstruction. The surgeon was kind, knowledgeable and made my dad feel comfortable (he's a very anxious guy at the doctor to start, then add out of the country!). In summary: The doctors at the facility speak very clear english. The equipment they use is comparable to what we have in the states, the facilities are clean/well kept. They were very clear with their plan. The healthcare provided at this location exceeded my expectations. I cannot recommend this facility enough for tourist. Good healthcare out of the country may seem like it can hard to find... pay the money and get it done somewhere safe like here! read more

I was very happy with the care we got. My partner had a stomach infection that led to diabetic keto acidosis. The medical staff took immediate action to begin to resolve both. Some reviews talk about the expense and being asked for a form of payment upfront. It's true, however, my travel insurance works directly with the billing office to get all her care covered. We had a similar experience in Jamaica and it felt like a scam. It is not. Once we returned home we got the travel insurance to reimburse us for all charges. I want to preference that the two staff members that you did have interactions with were kind. Having said that, I would avoid going here at all cost literally and figuratively. We went there for a cut that was deep and dragged that definitely needed stitches. Our hotel doctor said they were unable to do stitches so they sent us here. The hotel doctor repeatedly mentioned that it was a private hospital, which was much better and safer for us, which prompted us to say yes because he was creating a fear. (Don't worry; a conversation with the hotel has happened.) Once we arrived, we were told that there were many patients in front of us and we would have to wait at least an hour. This fell off to us because the hotel doctor said he would call to give them a heads warning that we were on our way. Because of traffic, we got 30 minutes plus already so we assumed we wouldn't be waiting that long. Once they were sent to the waiting room, we instantly were told out we have a room for you. Now this room was dirty. In hospital standards it was filthy. It was very sparse and I'm welcoming, but again the two staff members that we saw for blood pressure and to explain what caused the cut were welcoming. Not even five minutes later if the receptionist comes into the room to inform us that the bill would be a minimum of US$2500. And then they don't work with American insurance companies. I mentioned that that price was not feasible. Could the doctor look at the cut and see if there was an alternative method. The receptionist left said she spoke with the doctor and said it was required to have stitches. Mind you the doctor never once actually saw us. We ended up choosing to leave, and were told we had to wait to be discharged by the doctor. We waited 20 minutes and no doctor showed. As a result, we went to the receptionist yo go ahead and leave and paid to have our consultation, which was over US$450. Flabbergasted and appalled by the scenario is possibly the greatest understatement. If you can avoid, you should go elsewhere. read more

I cannot give this hospital any stars.. My husband currently is in severe critical care and may not survive. We were in the Dominican Republic on January 31/25 and stayed at the Dreams Royal Palm Beach and he contracted a Flesh Eating Baceria on this foot after getting out of the hot tub on the balcony at Dreams Royal Palm in Punta Cana- he knicked his toe and the bacteria entered. The next morning his foot was swollen and infected - and one toe purple. I took him to the Doctor on the resort and she said we needed to be taken to HOSPITEN BAVARO - which we went to immediately. As soon as we arrived we were admitted - my husband was given an IV antibiotic treatment - and was told it was only due to his diabetis. Nothing was done for the infection on his foot - only an oral ointment and it was wrapped == they did not diagnosis him with Necrotizing Fasciitis -- which is a very rapid moving flesh eating bacteria of the tissue with a 36 hour turn around time which he contracted at Dreams Royal Palm. They held him at the hospital until the next day- would not let me leave until they keep charging my American Express card -- he had no treatment the second day -- we were trying to get out of this clinique and they kept delaying = saying billing was underway -- no treatment was given to my husband after 10am of the day of departure but their invoice said 30 treatments - I asked them to please discharge us and provide a wheel chair - and they refused. I finally got him a wheel chair on may own that I found in the hallway and we took a taxi back to the Dreams Royal Palm. We then got aboard a plane the next day and I took him into the emergency room immediately . The ER doctor said he contracted a Flesh Eating Bacteria - diagnosed him properly and put him into surgery right away -- he then underwent 2 surgeries - one with the immediate removal of all of toes on his left foot , the next with the removal of his left foot. He is still in critical care- they are still giving him major antibiotics to monitor the infection he got at Dreams Royal Palm from the water/hotub. I do not know if he is going to survive this -- but had Hospiten diagnosed him improperly -- they just said it was an infection --NOT a flesh eating infection that has a 36 hour turnaround time. It has been a true nightmare. Hospiten kept us there for 8 hours for billing on the day of discharge - and not proper diagnosis and kept charging for bogus charges when he was not even getting any treatment. I hope my husband survives -- please do not go to this hospital -- clinic - whatever it is -- beware . Please -- beware. I hope my husband survives this -- the hotel staff also for referring us need to be accountable. This hospital saved my mother's life. The doctors were wonderfully attentive, caring, and diligent. The nurses were wonderful and caring as well. When we returned to the United States, where we are from, the surgeons who are performing a necessary follow-up operation looked at the work of the surgeon from Hospiten, and said it was "beautiful" work. They are super expensive, but for the level of care you get it's more than worth it. I can't stress enough how high-quality the care was. We had a 17 day stay, so we saw several different surgeons and several different doctors, and the full set of nurses, and literally every single person we saw was a good communicator, professional, and highly competent. If you need medical care in the area, I can't recommend them enough, especially if you have a potentially serious problem that requires high quality care. Because of the length of our stay, we also met lots of other patients, all of whom reported the same. Again, it is expensive if you don't have insurance coverage, but it's well worth it for the world-class care you get. I wish i could give 0 stars! Mafia! They prey on tourists! Stay away at all costs! We were in Cancun at the Hilton Cancun Resort when our daughter got a small cut on her foot and the resort put us in a taxi and sent us to Hospiten. This was on Monday April 21st, 2025, at 1pm. The doctor at Hospiten informed us that she needed a few stitches, and that it would cost 3000 USD (50 000 pesos). This is an outrageous price. In the USA this procedure would be performed by the primary care doctor and could cost under 250 USD full price, and 100 USD or less once insurance kicks in. We told the doctor we were not going to pay out of pocket and instead wait until the next day and get it done in the USA ( our return flight was scheduled for the next day anyways). This was a small cut, nothing life threatening. We asked that the doctor put some antibiotic cream on the wound and give our daughter some antibiotics preventively. The doctor refused to do anything since we were not going to have the stitches put!! If we had any doubt at that point that this was a scam, at that point it was clear. We tried to argue with her without success. At that point it felt like she was taking a revenge on us, because we did not want to pay for the exorbitant price, she was blackmailing us that it's stitches or nothing. She even tried to scare us about flying with an open would and that the airline may not take us (with a small cut on the toes). This was blackmail. We left, and we were charged 647 USD for our visit to Hospiten. This included a 51 USD charge for a nurse who came to take her blood pressure (we did not ask for it); a 328 USD charge for the doctor; and a 168 USD hospital fee. We paid 647 USD for a doctor to tell us we needed stitches (which we knew going in), and blackmail us into paying 3000 USD for them or else. We did not even get antibiotic cream in this fee!!! Outrageous. We took a taxi and asked the driver to take us to a local clinic. There was one 5 minutes away. We had the stitches put by a very nice doctor for under 300 USD. And this included antibiotics and pain killer for 5 days. We wrote a letter to Hilton to let them know what happened and to ask that they never send tourists to Hospiten. Because of the treatment we got at Hospiten, we will likely never come back to Mexico. Hospiten is preying on tourists by charging prices that are 10 x larger than prices in the USA (which are high to start with). Shame on you. read more

There was one very nice nurse that was sweet and honest but the people who run this place are bank rolling on tourists. Go to a general hospital where you will be treated and charged fairly. My boyfriend had an infection and without treatment he could have gotten seriously sick or even worse. They said that if we couldn't pay a few THOUSAND dollars then we should get out. Not many people have the ability to have an extra $2000-$5000. We luckily made friends with our driver. He took us to a more local place that got us in immediately and treated him. For treatment, a weeks worth of antibiotics and necessary materials to keep his wound clean we left paying about $60. I would not recommend! Wish i could leave zero stars read more

Quality of care was decent but they want a credit card before treating with a deposit of $3500 USD wife had food poisoning and dehydration total bill ended up being over $3,000 for some iv bag and some stomach meds. But the lowest part is when I questioned certain things about the price before they started treatment they immediately changed there attitude and became very rude! We were not a client we seemed like an inconvenience. They all but said we can go to another hospital down the road if we don't agree to all the things they wanted to charge you for and scare you by saying this is a private hospital and it's better than the public one down the road. My son was sent to this hospital due to what he thought was food poisoning. They examined him for a bacteria as well. He was put in an IV for antibiotics and severe dehydration. Once the type of bacteria was determined he recovered quickly. He was treated with urgency and respect, and was very happy with the final outcome. read more

Doc came back 20 mins later (still no treatment offered) and now demanded $5,500 and an overnight stay. He told my wife and I he never had said anything about $3,000...a blatant lie. The so called ambulance ride here was a scam, in a barely running van that was anything but an ambulance. Life Support Ambulance now trying to collect $1,700 from me. Ha! AT ALL COSTS, DO NOT GO TO THIS NIGHTMARE OF A HOSPITAL. TAKE AN AIR AMBULANCE OUT OF CANCUN INSTEAD--IMMEDIATELY. This hospital shark EXTORTS money out of those most vulnerable, threatening to take them to a public hospital in the middle of the night, instilling fear by telling you that the public hospital is understaffed, lacks resources and that they don't speak English there. If you don't have prior experience with a public hospital, this sounds like they're throwing you out on the street to die. You will be forced to make decisions under duress and have zero, absolutely zero, informed consent or transparency as to the treatment you are receiving. My mom was brought in for pneumonia due to a bacterial infection. She was placed in the ICU for 6 days at $14,000 per night (which you have to pre-pay each day or they hunt you down throughout the hospital like the gestapo to collect payment, or call your "friends" to borrow money from them). She was drugged, literally, drugged, in the ICU to keep her there for a longer period of time to run up the bill (morphine for headaches, extreme doses of xanax, other sedatives, anti-fungal (for a bacterial infection), and everything else they could possibly pump into her until she was incoherent) until we were finally able to air lift her out of there to Miami (highly recommend REVA air ambulance--phenomenal service). All while they threatened not to discharge her or release her medical records if we didn't pay in full (!!!). The doctors in the US confirmed that their treatment was fundamentally out of line with medical norms--at one point, they even refused to give her water and inserted an unnecessary catheter. She ended up leaving this hell in a worse condition than she was when she was admitted. Their medical treatment goes beyond medical malpractice--it was unethical and violates all medical standards. The all-inclusive resorts, this hospital and the taxi companies collude on this unethical mafia-esque arrangement, so when the hotel medic offers to put you in a taxi to send you here, refuse at all costs. Do your research and know your options, which we failed to do. We have reported this to the US consulate and engaging with a Mexican attorney. This is a Spanish chain, so we will pursue all legal remedies available to us against them too. read more

If zero stars were an option that's that I would give. I had a head injury while in Cancun and was brought from my resort to Hospiten Cancún. I was lucky that a friend me because I had blood all over me. I looked at by the ER doc. He did not say much but I needed a stitch and a CT scan. At first I said well okay. Then some other woman walked in and said "your insurance is no good here." Then comes the high pressure "starting" estimate for medical care. $2,500 for the stitch and CT scan was $1,000 then we will give another estimate on whatever we find. Then she says "we need to know RIGHT NOW" really trying to push me to pay. Well, even with a banged up head I can see this for what it was.... I HUGE SCAM in the making here and knowing they will "find other issues." I told them to go stick it and turned to my friend "let's get the heck out of here" cost me $65 for no medical care.... I understand how some people become upset because they do require you to pay upfront with credit card for services when they look to be of any major amount. My wife was effectively uninsured down here because she only had Medicare and it does not pay out of the country. However, they promptly diagnosed her sub dural hematoma in Hospiten in Playa Del Carmen and she was transferred by ambulance to their hospital in Cancun where she received excellent services from a team of qualified doctors. Her neurosurgeon continued to pay close attention to her in the days following her drainage by drilling a hole in her skull to drain the blood that was pressing against her brain and causing paralysis of the right side. The anesthesiologist personally took care of her anesthetics and follow up care rather than sending in an anesthetist nurse like they do in the states. The nurses were almost all pleasant with only one exception. The private room she was in when she left ICU was very modern and spacious with a couch that converted into a bed they made up for me every day so I stayed with her. They served me meals when they served her. The total cost for all of this was not cheap but I have a hunch that it was probably not that much more than my 20% coinsurance for Medicare in the states. Don't let the concern for the necessity of putting up a credit card in the beginning make you assume that they are ripping you off. In fact, they informed me when she left after major neurosurgery, 24 hours in ICU, four days of hospitalization, a long ambulance trip, three CAT scans, EKG's blood samples, follow up care in a week and again 30 days later, etc. that the $20,000 I ended up paying was more than they were billing and I will be getting a $1700 refund. read more

STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS: SCAM, LIERS, RIP OFF! I was trying to resolve this issue with them directly for over 6 months now, but DOROTHY ROJAS would ignore all my messages and calls despite agreeing that they were wrong, so I left with no chose to share my experience dealing with them here. Here are just some of the issues I had to face in this worse for profit organization I had to deal with. This is a SCAM organization filled with LIERS you should never trust that want to RIP YOU OFF as MUCH they can fand LEAVE YOU ILL. I got in a hold with their manager after a week of talking with resort managers - DOROTHY ROJAS and she confirmed that it seems that there were violations dealing with my case and promised to take care of it, then she disappeared and never responded to my emails and calls. I got bit by a spider at the Iberostar Riviera Maya resort facility and Hospiten doctor at the resort couldn't identify that stating I should get an antibiotic shot. Since he didn't know the reason behind the issue and don't do well antibiotics, I wasn't convinced and was curious if there are any alternatives. He said if I don't want a shot, I can just sign a paper and get pills, so what I did. Eventually, this small bite SPOILED OUR 3 WEEK DREAM VACATION at the 5-star resort and RESULTED IN A SURGERY with complicated follow up treatments and A SCAR TILL FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE! Moreover, THEY LIED about the estimated price of the treatment all the way until I was faced with a bill of $1600 for almost NOTHING and if I was to continue treatment with them I am sure I would have to pay out of my pocket WELL ABOVE $15000! Long story short here are only some issues I had to deal with: 1) Despite paying for the initial visit, I was miss informed that I am as a foreigner have options to see help in other nonprivate organizations such as government hospital or red cross when I requested it giving me an impression that the only option I have is Hospiten Hospital which is not true (no recommendations were needed, only information as I) 2) I was given false information about the pricing of the services at the hospital when I actually specifically asked for it at the Hospiten facility at Iberostar hotel, which resulted in my wrong expectation regarding the price of the Hospiten organization services. 3) I was forced to sign a blank document at the hospital with a thread not getting an urgent help and got misinformed regarding the nature of it (instead of estimated price, I've been told that it is deposit in case of emergency situation) 4) I have not been any given insufficient explanation at the hospital about my issue, the treatment that is going to be done to me neither any alternative option I could have, but charged for 2 doctor consultations while I can recall only one. I was not explained that I will be given solution for 5 hours and it wasn't confirmed with me than it clearly states in the instructions that it has to be confirmed with the patient. 5) Front desk representatives and doctors spoke very limited English and were not capable of answering questions regarding the nature of treatment and pricing 6) When I asked my initial doctor if the prices are the same in the Hospital facility as at the Iberostar Hospiten office (125 USD for the initial consultation and 82 USD for followup), I got confirmation from him, as a fact I got charged 295.10 USD and 155.75 USD, not including facility fees and so on. 7) In the international private hospital where I am assuming over 90% are tourists, I was given a report and some documents to sign only in Spanish, my request to get in English was denied. Hospiten is clearly abusing its monopoly position of being the only facility at the resort which can consult tourists and impact on their decision to use only their services. I feel like I got taken in advantage by not being familiar with Mexico, Spanish language, Hospital private hospital pricing models and policies. I've spent around USD 2000 (initial doctor consultation, antibiotics, hospital, commute to the hospital), but the primary concern is the hospital bill of USD 1401.04 that was totally unexpected. Hospiten has not solved my health issue since I had to do surgery a few days after visiting Hopiten facility at a General Hospital what cost me only around USD 6 ($121MX) for doctor consolation and another about USD 12 for surgery ($218 MX). As a result, I haven't received the right timely treatment and IT WAS HOSPITEN FALT IN THE FIRST PLACE. I end up overpaying about 5000% of what I could have paid alternatively being informed as I asked Hospiten doctor compared to around USD 30 price at a General hospital, that I would definitely choose if I were aware of the Hospiten practices. I can see the total direct loss by me of not being treated fairly of around USD 2000, not including around 60 hours of my time of treatment and trying to resolve my mistreatment by Hospiten for 2 weeks at the Resort and 6 months by now. read more

I am so impressed with this hospital. We were visiting Cancun on vacation from the USA. My daughter had an ovarian cyst rupture which nicked an artery causing profuse bleeding. The doctors on staff identified the issue and she was rushed into emergency surgery. She is recovering now. I am grateful we came here. Great care, knowledgeable doctors and caring staff. DO NOT GO HERE! My boyfriend got really bad food poisoning from villa del palmar and the resort doctor got us a paramedic to take him to the hospital. Every single employee there was unfriendly ESPECIALLY the doctor. They clearly only cared about one thing, money. The paramedic wrote us a note saying there was a hospital around the corner that would help us but to not tell anyone otherwise he would get into trouble. We told the doctor we couldn't afford it and thanked him for his help (even tho he did not help at all) he wouldn't even look us in the eye. When we signed the voluntary discharge paper the woman at the front desk told us we had to pay the consultation fee for the resort doctor. We asked her if we could pay at the hotel, she smiled weirdly and said "you can do that" We got a taxi and went to the Victoria hospital where they were friendly and helpful and actually cared that my boyfriend was severely ill (his intestines shut down) I'm so glad we did not stay. read more

My husband was admitted with an irregular heart rhythm which was diagnosed as dehydration. They could not cardio vert him as he has a bi ventricular pacemaker that they were nervous they would damage. They did.not have the equipment to interrogate his pacemaker which is a Medtronic device. Thus his kidneys started to be affected and their advised treatment was to do a two day dialysis. We opted to have him sent back to the States and the doctors were able to use his device to restore a normal heart rhythm in minutes. They assumed dehydration as we were tourists in Mexico however he got sick a few hours after arriving on a cool afternoon and he had 2 drinks. The assumption could have cost his life and did cost us thousands of dollars to get him out of there. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE! SCAM, LIARS, RIP OFF! My friend arrived in Cancun with nausea and vomiting, she thought it was motion sickness from the plane. As the evening progressed however, she started to feel worse. We asked around, and the hospital that seemed closer to us was Hospiten. I read a couple of good reviews, and thought it was ok to take her there. My friend was taken in with her husband, and I was not allowed to go in with them. They speak perfect English, so I felt ok to go home. After 4 hours, private room, CT Scans, and blood work, the doctor came in to say that there was nothing in the CT scan, and the lab work came out clear. My friend's husband contacted me as they were details that he didn't understand. When I returned to the hospital, I realized that they had made him sign a blank bill, and potential initial charges of $2500USD!!! Then they gave her a prescription and released her. However, she was worse than when the evening started. I am Mexican, and fluent in Spanish, so I started pushing the hospital to get better answers. They dismissed me basically stating that there was nothing wrong with her, and the mild blockage that they saw on the CT scan was likely from some Pepto-Bismol that she took earlier. We went to the pharmacy and got the medication. Long story short, my friend was progressively getting worse, so we decided to take the tests results and CT scan to another local doctor ($8 for the consult). It turned out that after 3 doctors reviewing her test results, we decided to take her to a Hospital Victoria which is what we should've done in the first place. It was determined that she had a serious blockage in her intestines, and her blood work showed potential infection. She has a diagnosis and since it will require surgery, they are flying home to take care of it. The negligence of Hospiten only made her case worse. I did further research on Hospiten and learned that hotels get commissions for sending people there, thus why they ask at which hotel you are staying at upon registration, and their only goal is to make money. I am beyond disappointed that such a place exists, when Mexican doctors & medical facilities have very high standards. I am filing a complaints with different entities, and while I am not sure if that will help, I will spread the word as much as I can and avoid this place at all costs. If you are ever sick in Cancun, and need medical support, avoid hospitals like Hospiten & Amerimed, which have apparently the same model towards ripping off tourists. Most pharmacies have onsite doctors that can do a quick consult for non-emergencies, and if you need to go to ER go to Hospitals such as Hospital Victoria or Clinica Morelos. read more

Hope to NEVER end up at hospital in Mexico, ever again. Not even sure I will return to the country. At resort, Valentin Imperial, I have a major health issue that required emergency care. Resort Dr called and called ambulance....my friend had to pay doctor there, which was asked prior to me being placed into an ambulance (during the emergency). Credit card payment. In ambulance, insurance was filled out then as pulling up to hospital, the ambulance staff brought out his cell phone with a statement and asking for a tip!!! WOW. At hospital, the doctor was nice enough although I could not understand him. He wanted to admit me and run "studies" such as CAT scans, etc. I said I would not do that so he suggested 4-6 hours of care to monitor me. Immediately after he left, another person came in the room and wanted $1600 for a 4-6 hour stay with care... I refused and doctor returned, suggesting 2 hour stay then left, staff came in and said $800. I said no, then one hour stay for $400. I ended up getting blood work and leaving, required to sigh Against Medical Advice... which may have not been the correct thing to do but felt no confidence in care, especially with the money situation. I provided my insurance card the entire time and would understand a co-pay. Money was the motivator, not my care. Never wanted to be back in US so badly! read more

This hospital is terrible. The only dr who was nice was an orthopedic dr I saw in er. The internist/ cardiologist was very nasty. They are only interested in money especially when if they know you have trip insurance. After a fall they insisted I spend the night for observation. What a joke. Put me in a room,closed the door and no one ever checked on me. Next day wanted more money because the $1000.00 was only for six hour stay. Did xrays and ct scan. My friend was emitted in the hospital, the hospital first told him he was fine. His wife pushed for a CT scan were they found a brain bleed. He has been given little actually treatment, because the hospital is not equipped to handle his condition. Kaiser and Swedich Doctors in the USA are working with the hospital to have him medievac. All was ready to go, just need the Mexican doctor to sign off. He is now refusing to do this with no explanation. Stating my friend needs to stay an addition week at $6000 before he will allow sign off on travel. This is extortion. Multiply Nero Doctors have reviewed the case and says he is stable for travel. Worst experience ever at this facility. They demanded $50k from my father when my mom became ill to pay bills. BCBS offered to overnight a check and they refused stating they only take credit cards. We were there for my brothers wedding. Dorothy and the other "patient advocates" had the audacity to tell us to ask wedding guests to borrow their credit cards. They told us to pay or else. Including not releasing my mother, sending her to a community hospital or jailing my father. My mother needed a blood transfusion and my brother had to pay them to donate to her since they don't have O negative blood in Mexico. The medical care seemed ok. It was so awful we had to pay private to life flight her back to the states. I suggest never going to this facility. read more

We have had a very negative experience at the Hospiten Hospital in Cancun. The conduct of this hospital appears to be unprofessional at best with a disregard to patient safety in the pursuit of profit. My wife was bitten by an insect at our Finest Playa Mujeres Resort in Cancun and the wound appeared to become red and enflamed with a circular ring. We were somewhat alarmed and decided to consult the doctor on site (Victor Gabaldio) at the resort for a fee of $150 USD to assess the nature of the bite (ie mosquito or spider) and determine if futher treatment was necessary. Victor immediately expressed alarm with the bite but couldn't tell us what kind of bite it was but that is would likely required intravenous and oral antibiotics. We were quite surprised to hear such dire recommendations but Victor insisted he would call the hospital and arrange for our appointment with a local dermatologist who was an expert in these things and could tell us more - that was our referral to Hospiten Hospital in Cancun. Later I realized that Victor actually works for Grupo Hospiten which is the parent company of Hospiten Hospital in Cancun, an conflict of interest that was not brought to our attention and highly suspect in the recommendations of both Victor and Hospiten Hospital in Cancun. The Hospitan doctor looked at my wife's insect bite (of which they see many and should be accustomed) and told us he had no idea what kind of insect bite it was (which is suspicious for a dermatologist) but her condition was so serious that she would be in hospital for days if she didn't have immediate intravenous and oral antibiotics treatment at a cost of $1600 USD. Further, they recommended this antibiotic treatment to my breastfeeding wife and insisted this treatment wouldn't impact our infant which is categorically untrue, and highly concerning if their dermatologist is unaware of this most basic understanding of the most commonly administered medicines on the planet. In addition, when we declined intravenous antibiotics but requested oral antibiotics they refused and insisted on full treatment (intravenous and oral) or none at all which is highly alarming given their previous assessment that her condition was so serious that she would be hospitalized within days of non-treatment. After considering the lack of medical knowledge or blatant disregard for it in the pursuit of profit, as well as the likelihood of serious medical complications from the insect bite, we made the difficult decision to leave the hospital without treatment. To our amazement (but certainly not to the amazement of an experienced dermatologist) this insect bit cleared up with no treatment over the next 2 days. I would sum up our assessment of this hospital as manipulative, unprofessional, dangerous, deceitful and self-serving and would warn any prospective clients from visiting any one of this company's many international facilities as this type of company culture usually is cultivated at the highest levels of company management., Sean. read more

Was brought here on my honeymoon after 3 days of horrendous diarrhea. I must say that I was in a triage bed in under a minute, and was seen by my first doctor in under 5. Reading everyone's reviews about liars and cheats I completely disagree. #1 When you leave the USA you also leave your US Health Insurance at your departing gate... #2 Take a look at a hospital bill without insurance at home and see who the real scam artists and liars are....#3 Make smart decisions when you leave the country and get TRAVEL INSURANCE. Instead of being cheap and not paying the $100 per person when you book your trip, GET IT. My hospital bill here at Hospiten Cancun for an overnight stay, ultrasound, two rounds of bloodwork was $5000 USD. I got reimbursed from my travel insurance $5000. Most times you don't need to use it, which you should take as a blessing, but when you do need it it'll save you a lot of stress, money, and putting the blame on a fantastic hospital with a great staff. Everyone who said they were being taken advantage of should be ashamed....it's not the hospitals fault you didn't do your homework before you left your home country! read more

While I was on vacation I had a grand mal seizure on the beach. I was not diagnosed with epilepsy at that time. The resort called the paramedic and they took me to hospiten. They immediatly admitted me to ICU and ran every tests possible. The nurses were sooo kind to me. I started to feel better and since I was still in the ICU, my boyfriend couldn't be with me all the time. So they would bring me magazines and stuff. The lady at public relations was a sweetheart. She would update my boyfriend of my state and she handled all the insurance paperwork. I didn't have to worry about anything but getting better. When I was stable, they moved me to a normal room. I'm from Canada and I never seen such a beautiful hospital. It was almost better than my hotel room ahah! The ICU doctor and neurologist explained everything to me and said it was epilepsy. When I returned to Canada, I gave all the reports and MRI results to my physician and I'm now under medication. It was a hard time for me and my boyfriend, but people at hospiten cancun made it easier. read more
