My horses Johnny and Z at horse Mesa ranch
Aimee S.

Bee is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. She will make sure your horse is well taken care of and if there's anything wrong she will let you know. She really cares an loves every horse that's there. Every day she will make sure they will get at treat. Our horses are retired and couldn't be happier.

I've never had such a great experience with a stable and the ladies who run it. Corrin the barn manager is so attentive to my horses needs and is always giving me updates when I have to go back down to flagstaff for a few days. I also get to pay for turnouts that is super helpful so my horse can get some love when I'm gone. Bess the horse training (and much more) at the barn is so knowledgeable and loves horses. She has taught me so much about riding and how to go back to the crucial basics. The barn hands are so kind and Jayden helps out with exercising horses and clean up around the barn. And she's one of the most knowledge teens I know. I attended a camp this summer for desensitization for the horses. And it's the best thing I've ever done with my horse. We worked with tarps, stuffed animals, sparkly strings, American flags, and so much more! They also have endless beautiful trails to ride on right from the barn! I highly recommend this stable to anyone looking to come to flagstaff! They love horses and really care about each horse.

I have kept my mare at this facility for well over a year and she has had a few health issues unrelated to her care. Through all the problems, Julie and Michelle were most supportive and went out of their way to stay extra hours make extra barn checks and help me in any way possible. They work diligently to improve every facet of care and upkeep at this wonderful facility. I have watched their riders and horses of all ages improve in every way consistently and with much success. By enforcing professionally recommended vaccination protocols I knew my mare would not be exposed to non-vaccinated horses. It doesn't make you popular but it certainly speaks to a professional, high standard of care. Whether you need a seasonal boarding situation and/or coaching at any level in any discipline this barn has a program flexible enough to fulfill your needs. I will always make this facility my first choice for my horses care.

This equestrian center is not deserving of even one star. I was an auditor at a clinic and my…read morehusband was a participant that was suppose to be held at this facility back in August 2018. This event was planned months in advance and within three weeks of the event, they would not honor their signed contract. It was the most unprofessional and unethical act that I've ever heard of by a horse facility. In all my years of being involved in horse events in AZ (30+ years), I have NEVER heard of a requirement for in state horses to have a health certificate and vaccination records to attend an arena event! A legal contract must state all requirements ESPECIALLY ones that are not equine industry standard practices. To say it's their policy three weeks prior to the event does not make it right. And to say it's the responsibility of the organizer to ask questions so they know their policies is ridiculous. Nichole B.'s information is accurate. Signed contracts mean nothing to this facility. Julie G. states she tried speaking directly to participants and/or their veterinarians, but the organizer would not release our information. I'm glad that the organizer did not release our information. A signed contract is between the organizer of the event and the facility. Honor the signed contract! Don't try to give lame excuses to the participants as to why you decided not to do so. This facility nearly ruined what turned out to be a great clinic elsewhere with their unprofessional practices. I would strongly caution any group planning an event at this facility. Their unwritten policies do not override a signed contract, yet that's exactly was happened.

Hallelujah Horse Ranch - This was taken in 59° weather. This is the case most days in the winter. Rugs are never taken off.

I went over with him very carefully how to feed my older horse and what to feed him And I found that he wasn't able to follow my simple instructions or he may have just not been willing to follow my instructions. I really think it's probably the latter. He is very unhappy, and every little thing that irritates him becomes a new rule after he goes and whines about it to the ranch's lease holder. She depends on him because she is unwilling to do the work herself or hire someone with more on the ball. She spends half the week with her boyfriend in Phoenix and as long as the work is done whether it is done correctly or not that's really all that matters to her. Her name is Deborah. She is checked out. She rarely comes out of her house, except to teach her riding lessons. She does very little with her own horses. What really is egregious about this situation is that she leaves their blankets on in 60° weather on winter days. And these are not simple sheets- these are heavy rugs. Her poor horses. They sweat. They cannot regulate their temperatures very well at all and they are just miserable. And there are some horses that are boarding there as well whose owners' pay for them to be blanketed and un blanketed and this does not happen on most days. They'll stand in their blankets for days on end when the afternoons are gorgeous and warm. I couldn't stand to see the cruelty anymore, and I said something. If you see something, say something. I doubt it will ever change and that's a shame for her poor horses. I feel like they're more like four-legged possessions to her than actual sentient beings who have feelings. Now because I said something I have to leave. There's no way it's going to get better but I couldn't keep my mouth shut any longer. Because I care about all horses not just my own.

If you are new to horses and want to learn how to interact to train yourself to be a good leader…read morethen Deborah is a good starting point but her rates for training are way above market value compared to other amazing reputable people in the area. You do not get much more bang for your buck. Boarding wise I HIGHLY discourage utilizing the facility. She doesn't own the land so there are limits but the landowners leave it dilapidated and dangerous. She invests minimally in improvements to the property. Her ranch caretaker is not a horse person and does not know how to interact with them at times due to the lack of meaningful training. I paid full care and according to the contract this includes daily pasture cleaning, hay feeding, and grain feeding if you prepare the bags. He only cleaned every other day and would not feed the grain. He Doesn't know how to interact with young horses. He bad mouthed my very well behaved 2 year old gelding to the woman who was helping me move out. Unprofessional and inappropriate. He doesn't even provide the obligations outlined in the boarding contract. On top of it you have to pay for and deliver your own hay. With $500 board that is inappropriate as well. Nobody here is ill-willed or malicious but please avoid learning a hard lesson like I did. Fortunately I ended up at a wonderful private facility with a great property manager.
