Very deceitful person. Took me for $15,000.00 For a very simple matter of just changing the survivorship on my ex husband pension. VERY BAD hurtful experience. My worst experience hiring this law firm to represent me. They are all about the money and not about your best interest. I hire Robert Hornberger to represent me for my divorce and he was like a dog with his tail tucked the entire time. The judge did not allow me to speak and represent myself because I had an attorney present so I had to deal with his incompetence and the other attorneys crap. Because of the history and knowledge of my divorce I hired Robert again to represent me for a contempt case but it turn out that was my biggest mistake. He had interns working on my case, billed me 1000's of $$$ for sending emails and made lots of mistakes and billed me for it, had his wife fill in for him on several occasions, he was never prepared and didn't have the knowledge of my case. The court kept asking for me to drop the case but I refused to and stood up for my rights which kept getting violated, so corruption in the Suffolk family court was at its best and Robert played along with them to swindle more money out of me. After spending 20K plus with his firm for a contempt case, Robert Hornberger told me I wouldn't win even though the fact are clear, why did it took him all that money to figure that out? the other person kept violated my rights and disobeyed our court order. I even have 2 police reports for the same behavior. After confronting Robert Hornberger about his firm billing me for mistakes they've made and having me taking time off from work to show up to court only to find out the case was postponed and Robert lying to my face he was there and didn't see me, the experience is a nightmare I'm still living it. His finals words was to relieve him for not agreeing to paying him more. He's very dishonest to take a clients money and drop them when they stand up for themselves because he's afraid of trial and billing me more money for a service they didn't deliver. I now have to sue him to get my money back. Be very careful. read more

Horrible. I referred this guy to my boyfriend based on a reference from a friend of mine. A few years later I went with my boyfriend to meet him as we wished to pursue a divorce (settlement agreement was in place) and ask questions about the settlement agreement. He had no tolerance for me and my "inquisition" and got defensive and threw us out. He has no idea I even referred him to my boyfriend. He prides himself on his "ruthlessness" but he basically just threw out his own client because he had no patience for my questions - which were questions about the settlement agreement my boyfriend couldn't answer. A year ago life as I knew it forever changed. My husband of more than 2 decades went to CPS and accused me of heinous acts. He then went to the court and filed for an OP against me. I was thrust into to Family Court System and I quickly learned that if I did not fight these neglect charges I would also lose my career. I knew the charges against me were false and could not be proven-but NONE of that mattered -what did matter was I was ACCUSED and I had to find legal counsel to fight for me. Robert and Christine took on my case when it was just one neglect charge against me. At my first court appearance I found out that I was also being charged with Munchausen's by Proxy. I assumed Robert and Christine would drop me as a client-they didn't-they fought even harder for me. DAY 1 they told me "It's going to be a long process-your best case scenario is a dismissal but it's at least 6-12 months away". I DID NOT want to hear this. I wanted to STORM the court and make the Judge and CPS realize I was a good person and give me my children back. What actually happened was EXACTLY what I was told by Robert and Christine- 9 months after hiring them to represent me I received a one year ACOD and full custody of my children. Robert and Christine took care of ME. They read my emails and responded quickly -returned my phone calls and they entertained my endless theories for how to make things move faster. I was a Mom filled with tremendous fear but Robert and Christine assured me "WE WILL WIN"-"BUT, IT WILL TAKE TIME". The staff at this firm is amazing. Dawn, Susan, Kellie and Mary took care of me like I was their own family. The first few months I would call crying and in crisis. They listened and assured me I was in good hands with Robert and Christine. I was very lucky to find a team willing to go to battle for me....in the end it's all about the kids -and I am one blessed Mommy! read more
