Paid a fee for consultation and made an appointment in March. Was provided an email with the break down of fees. March Friday - Consultation went well, we were told an email will be sent with questionnaire form to complete and instructions to pay along with a link to upload documents. Tuesday - the next week- I called and asked I only received an email with a link to pay. No drop down, no amount, no questionnaire form. The person on the phone stated I need to choose from a drop down. I was shocked- because there was no drop down, just a blank space to type in the amount. They were not familiar with there one pay system. The person stated payment in full is required in order to get a link to upload documents and the questionnaire form. This was never mentioned in the consultation or in the email. In addition, first email I received has one set of pricing and the email I received after the consultation increase by $350.00 When I forwarded the original email and asked if they will be honoring the original quoted price. There response was "The Fiduciary Tax Return reservation fee for our early bird engagement bookings " So - NO they are not honoring No mention in the email about early bird or price only good for 30 days- nothing. This is what got me- In addition they stated this word for word copied from email. "I checked our availability with the team and was informed that we are currently full and not accepting any new fiduciary engagements until further notice. Unfortunately, this means that we cannot take on your engagement at this time but we can add you to our wait list upon your request. I have already initiated the refund for your New Client Consultation fee of $62.50 so you should see it post to your credit card within a few days." So I was dropped - on Friday they stated they have room. Very interesting. Needless to say, this left me in a challenging situation- trying to find an accountant on a short notice to file my taxes. I don't do reviews very often as I understand things happen and I grew up with a Family business , but 2 weeks later I am still struggling to find an accountant.

What was even more surprising is multiple individuals recommended 'Lillian Makama Bookkeeping'. I reached out to her and she got back to me within a couple of hours. She called me the next morning to review my bookkeeping needs. After a few minutes, I felt very comfortable and added her as Quickbooks Online accountant. Within 15 minutes she was able to identify the duplicate entries in our bank register. She walked me through how to rectify the issue. My first concern was when Minakshi called to let me know how much my taxes would be this year. When…read moreI had questions about why this number was different than the taxes taken out of each paycheck. She was not able to give me a a straight answer. I later talked to Tawnya who gave me a complete and professional answer. In this phone call I also asked for an update on a previous issue of the IRS claiming I owe them taxes when I didn't. Tawnya said she would have to check on this the get back to me. I submitted all the paperwork they needed for this over a year before. Two weeks later there was a hold on my checking account from the IRS. I emailed and called Tawnya. There was no reply. The next day I emailed again and called everyone in the office. The last and only person who answered was Chantel. Chantel was very helpful and professional. She called the Federal Tax Franchise for me and released the hold and got the accusation dismissed. Then three months later I was sent an invoice of $200 for them to "contacted the Franchise Tax Board to request removal of the hold on the client's account." If I had known in advanced asking them to take care of this would cost me an additional $200 I would have done it myself. Later I am getting all these calls and emails while I am at work that I need to sign and submit a document right now because if I don't I will be charged from the IRS. I had to step away from work to address this. I then looked at all of our correspondence and saw they never gave me a heads up on this due date. Instead they bombarded me requiring me to drop everything in the moment to address this task. In the end they cost me more time and money than completing my taxes through turbo tax. The biggest concern is that they interacted with me in unprofessional ways on many occasions. I will not be filing my taxes with them anymore
