I'm naturally afraid of heights but it was like a video game looking down on the Lego-sized buildings and cars. About 25 minutes up in the air, I was given the reigns and full control for about 7 and learned that flying straight by maintaining a constant altitude using the horizon wasn't that hard at all. Go on a decent day for a picture perfect view as you fly over Gillette Statium and back again. They'll take the doors off the helicopter on hot days, so you'll get a very nice breeze, otherwise green house effect and you will cook like a piece of steak. If it's 85 degrees on the ground, it will feel 15-20 degrees cooler up in the air...which I hadn't expected since I'm technically closer to the sun...

They constantly update the "My Bright Day" app throughout the day (not sure how they find the time to do it!) with photos and comments, so you feel fully engaged with your kiddo's whereabouts and what they're up to each day. From my first time in the center in February Latoya and Jessie were welcoming, kind, and reassuring. I was just returning to work following maternity leave and was not sure I was making the right decision for my daughters. They answered all of my questions and provided the direction I needed to feel confident in my choice. Fast forward four months to when my daughters were ready to start at the center. The team went above and beyond to make our family comfortable. Every day since our first day they continue to exceed our expectations with guidance, compassion, providing resources and acting as a sounding board. My daughters were born 6 weeks premature. It is common to adjust for prematurity when measuring children against developmental milestones. I am pleased to say that at our recent 15 month appointment our pediatrician found our daughters to be developing appropriately without adjustment. I attribute so much of that to the time they have spent with Latoya, Jessie and Latara at TLE. I am excited for my daughters to have new adventures in the Toddler Room and wanted to recognize this team for the superb work they have done during this challenging time.

My son struggles with some social emotional skills in especially new environments and as a first-time parent I am still learning and navigating my new life as a mother. However, I feel that Latoya could've done a better job as a director in immediately providing me with strategics and possible solutions on the situation rather than making me feel like a failure as a parent. Not even a hour after dropping of my son, I received a rushed call to pick my son up. When I got there, I had asked Latoya if I could speak to her privately about my son to which she stated he had to be present. I disagreed because it is inappropriate and unprofessional and yet she still protested against my request until she finally gave in. Once we were in a private room, her attitude and demeanor changed to a judgmental, insensitive and unprofessional woman. I felt belittled and disrespected on so many levels because I feel like if she had a calmer, collected, empathic and understanding first initial approach with me things wouldn't have escalated the way it did. She raised her voice on multiple occasions and even raised her finger to point at me which I found offensive. She falsely accused me of justifying my son's behavior without understanding that he may have mental health disorder that prevent him from expressing his words correctly to strangers he does not yet know well . She failed to comprehend that as a mother I am my sons biggest and only advocate and was trying to understand what was going on. My encounter with her has been the worse experience ever. I am quite shocked myself because everything was so good and smooth in the beginning. Overall, I feel like the situation could've been handled better by expressing empathy, patience and professionalism with a calm and collected tone of voice. In the end, you have to be sensitive and gentle with people because you don't really know what's going on in their lives and it's not okay to belittle others. I wish she would've provided alternative solutions and other options rather than guilt tripping me. When I emailed her stating I was leaving a negative review, she quickly stated she had all this information and informative resources that will better assist me on my situation. However, I've been waiting ever since, and she continues to neglect the matter. Luckily, I found a backup plan and have a strong support system and all the resources I need. The learning Experience definitely lacks well trained staff members and could benefit more with additional training and a stronger resourceful leader who isn't riding a high horse.

Everbrook Academy (Coolidge Corner North) offers an extremely convenient location, snacks and lunch included (for all except the infants, of course), and a new Director (Tonya), who has made a positive impact since she started around Christmas time. There are also a number of teachers who truly care about the children, as well as we parents and families. There have been times when the school definitely struggled with teacher retention. However, we have seen more stability now, and can still count on some of the more tenured, seasoned, and rock solid teachers to keep on leading the way. My son (pre-k class) has needed some increased attention and support in certain areas. I can without a doubt say that the teachers (Miss. Rachel and Mr. Kaleb), along with our new Director (Tonya), have done everything they can to communicate closely and directly with me, and to work with my son to help him from day to day. Miss. Rachel, in particular, has worked in the pre-k classroom for a few years now, and is an extremely bright, talented, sharp, attentive, and engaging teacher and leader. I feel lucky that we have her! Like I said before, I feel that Tonya and the teachers have been very involved and communicative regarding my son, which has been helpful. Tonya is always quick to respond when I have something to address. I believe that things have been improving at the school since she became the Director just a few months ago. I also believe that the curriculum is good, in terms of preparing the children for kindergarten. Overall, I think that the cost of daycare is high (and yes Everbrook has raised the price every year, and has some additional fees that creep in, like their "summer camp" program)...but their hours are decent (although used to be better before covid!), and with few holiday and vacation closures. Ultimately, this is a good, safe, and caring place to send young children.

I started my son there at age 6 but I did not know that their program starts children even younger or I would have had him there sooner.
